You sure are blessed! Great! My record for marigolds is 5 days: have you been heating the seed trays?

I started them early since I want to grow them in the greenhouse and put them about the building when they flower. I planted coleus in the other half of the tray but don't expect anything to show for several weeks. No added heat. Room temp 68 F. Plastic dome over tray. 12 hrs lighting.

DS planted petunias late Thurs night, they were up Mon morning.

You may need to separate the celosia and the marigolds if growing them under lights. My celosia seedlings were robust and shot up like gangbusters while their flatmates were slower growing; it made for some interesting lighting situations and cell juggling!

Thanks Gardenwife. I was thinking that a sharp pair of scissors or a sharp knife would allow me to cut the tray in half when I reach that point. I intend to move the marigold into larger cell trays after their second pair of leaves appear and then move them into the greenhouse. Should I skip the second tray and go directly to 3" pots?

That I'm not sure about; I know if seedlings are in too deep a po for their roots, their roots may not reach the depth where the moisture is.

Padre,
I also purchased French Vanilla but have not started the seeds yet.
