2003 weird seed dip

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

thanks hon, stay warm!!!!! I can wait, just need to know who's coming:)

Cortlandt Manor, NY(Zone 6a)

I had some wild Rhodophialia aff. rhodolirion seeds that I put in the dip and I was also trying to germinate myself. They were supposed to require some fancy stuff to get them to germinate, but they all came up after a few weeks in paper towel at room temp! Hooray!

great news!!!

Temuco, Chile(Zone 9b)

I feel (and hope!!!) you'll get mine in time.

I did post it about a 1 1/2 week ago. I'm sure they'll be there just, just !

With the inverted seasons, some of my seeds are just coming along........

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I'm sure they will be here in time Cristina!! we have a couple of weeks left.

Karyn, got yours today!

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

This sounds good to me! Now, to see if I have enough unusual seeds that count. To confirm, 10 is the minimum number of packets you need, right?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

right! lmk! :)

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

Tig, did you ever think of putting a post in the international seed trading column, advertising this? Just a suggestion.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

rats, no I didn't!! I will, hopefully if anyone wants in they have time.

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Hi tiG,

I wonder if you received the seeds I sent you - should have reached you last week. Please confirm.

Thanks for doing this for us.

Greetings and sunshine from Chile,

Ursula

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

not yet, but I got Cristinas today, so yours are probably coming very soon. I'll let you know, we still have time.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

got seeds today with the last name Millsap from Florence KY. No user name, no note inside. If that's you, please email me so I can put names together.

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

tiG, would the Purple Majesty Millet seeds count? Thx...

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

yes, if you have enough other very unusuals to make up ten packs. no more than 3 packs of the same. I can send you the 'rules:)' email I've been sending and you let me know if you're in.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Hi Tig, I would love to join in.

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

tiG,

Mine went out today via "snail mail". It should reach you before the "due date". However, since the snail doesn't move that quickly, you might want to wish for a strong Southern breeze, so that it arrives in your mailbox on the appointed day. :~)

Weymouth, Dorset, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Hi Tig, got my seeds in the mail last weekend, but I'm worried that I didn't put any info in. I put a label in as requested,it's in the form of christmas card, so that might make it stand out!! :-)Hubby missed p.o. day he posted it, so he just stuck loads of stamps on,double what he put on a similar envelope the week before,he knew that if he bought it back home to me unposted, he would be in deep..deep.. trouble.

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Yes, tiG, I'll let you know by end of today. I'm digging through seeds to find the unusual. Just a slow process but I'll know by tonight and may have them in the mail today with luck. Thanks!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

hehe sue, I'm sure it will make it!!! I come to this thread first, looking to match towns if there's no note. I found the person I was looking for above. :)

Temuco, Chile(Zone 9b)

tiG, I'm so glad you've got mine in time.

This is going good!!!!!!!!!!!

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

I wrote you an email, tiG. My seeds are on their way as of today. I had to really dig to look for unusual varieties. I do think it's a good smattering, though. Thanks for coordinating! This should be a lot of fun!!!

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

Just to keep you on the up & up, I am going to have to have injections of Synvisc put in both knees. Went to the Dr's yesterday & they took x-rays. I have lost most of the fluid in my knees & they look & feel bad. Lots of pain. Going up steps is a real nightmare. I still plan to garden, though. They will start giving me an injection in each knee one week apart for 3 weeks. This & taking Cosamine DS should make me much more comfortable for about 6 months. At that time, I can make a decision on a double knee replacement or not. And they call this the golden age? The only thing that makes me happy is swapping flower seeds in the mail, so keep em coming. Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh hon!! I'm so sorry. I will be praying for you. I sure hope something from this swap will give you a smile. Keep us up to date please?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

got Ursulas, Morph's and Shirleys today. we have a really good selection here, I think you will all find something special:)

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

I'm so pleased they made it!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

ME TOO! I CAN'T WAIT!!

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Ditto! I knew it was going to be close :) But, I didn't know I'd have an extra few days to spare!

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

Tig, you ought to do this weird seed swap again. It was fun last year. It's been almost a year since I had my knees injected & I'm still going strong, rocking & rolling. Very little pain & I'm hooked. If & when the shots wear off, I'm gonna get them again. Let's have a rounding applause for another weird seed dip in 2004. Hip Hip Hooray!!~!

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

Sounds good to me!

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

But, what I have now won't be weird I don't think???

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

It was so nice last year getting seeds that were hard to find and were not common every day seeds. This is going to be fun!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

tiG,

I am sorry but with all my commitments I can't participate this year. Wish I could.

Lani

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

we wish you could too Lani, you take it easy!!

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

Would it be acceptable to send less than ten packets and then get less than ten in return? Are the following rare or not?

Dietes irioides
crepe myrtle
Hesperaloe parviflora
Lantana camara
Asclepias curassavica (Mexican milkweed)
Albizia julibrissin (mimosa tree)
Nandina domestica
Salvia gregii

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

yes, that's fine. just no more than 10 packs, last year I had one person send about 100 and it was painful:)
those sound great, emailing you my addy.

Gold Beach, OR(Zone 9a)

I would like to get in on this round, can I?
Rebecca
