Birthdays - It had to be Shoe........

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

....it had to be Shoe.

It had to be Shoe, it had to be Shoe
I wandered around and finally found the somebody
Who could make me be true, could make me be blue
And even be glad just to be sad thinking of you

Some others I've seen might never be mean
Might never be cross or try to be boss
But they wouldn't do
For nobody else gave me a thrill
With all your faults, I love you still
It had to be you, wonderful you
It had to be Shoe.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HORSESHOE and all you other nice people and I hope the sun is shining for ya'll!!

Here's wishing you all a Very Happy Birthday and Many, many more to come.

"Thank you for being a friend,
Traveled down the road and back again,
You're a friend and a confidant.

And if you threw a party,
Invited everyone you ever knew,
You would see the biggest gift would be from me,
And the card attched would say,
THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND!!!!!"

Got tied up with DD and Granddarling, and missed the party, but I still wish you a happy birthday, and a whole wonderful year of celebration. Aging like fine wine, you are.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Howdy folks...since there are two threads pertaining to my old age, I'm posting the following in both. Ya'll are the best! Thanks!

I'm backkk...(barely).
First off a mighty MIGHTY big thanks to all you sneaky conniving and WONDERFUL folks that sent cards/presents/phone calls/emails. Zowie, for someone like me who tends to "lay low" it was quite a big deal for me! Thanks a ga-zillion! AND, even tho SOMEONE bumped my age up a yr I'm actually relieved! And DW reminds me they weren't really off that much, after all I AM in my 50th year!. Also, as I mentioned above, all the stress of turning 50 won't be there now that I've already "turned". As a matter of fact, I highly recommend everyone who is soon approaching those milestones to celebrate them a yr early! It is much easier!

By the way, for some of you that don't know about "the secret"...apparently someone started a scheme to surprise me with a few gifts. Unbeknownst to me many of them were mailed to Swoz, who lives nearby. On Friday she emailed and was so excited about "something I just gotta show ya!". So we agreed that sometime on Saturday she'd swing by and I'd take a look at it. Due to some plans (mis-laid?) we finally got together around 4:30. She and her son, Mikey, showed up with a bag of mail pkgs, and her camera of course! Heck, I thought she had either bought a new truck or got something for the greenhouse she is building, or had questions to ask about this or that. Hah! Fooled me! We spent the next hr or so opening boxes, getting pics took, laffing, making comments! (Had to make comments...after all, one "old geezer-ette" sent me a pack of pencil leads! Someone trying to tell me something!?) ;>)

All in all, it was a great day. Again, many many tearful and cheerful hunks of gratitude go out to all of you!

Burlington, NC(Zone 7b)

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Aw, Shoe, you are so cute in those pics.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Cute? I think you have me confused with some of the other folks in them pics. (I'm the one with the beard):>)

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

How did I miss this one? Must have had my head in the seed bag...that's seed bag, not feed bag.. well, maybe that too! I hope you had a great birthday, Shoe...25th, wasn't it?

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

(Hehehehe...well, according to SOME folks, it was DOUBLE that!)

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

That's right, Shoe! I recall hearing we were rushing you a bit! Now you've got one free year coming to you!
