Journey to the centre of the earth.. aimee's adventure conti

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

That would really make us suspicious, djm. Wouldn't it? Also if they start peeling carrots and taters we should get the heck out of these tubs.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Move over, I'm joining you! Nothing like a nice hot bath to get us on track. Then I might make a quick cup of some hot, strong coffee when I get out. If only I had my CD player, and a few of those CDs with Scottish tunes. I wonder if Wonder thought about installing such a thing. I'll just look around in a bit and see, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to find a good sound system and some nice CDs. Or if she could ever tear Jo away from El, maybe he would sing for us.

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

Yeah, if we could get old El to bat out "Scotland the Brave"' we might get a bit of action from Winter!

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

Ich can't take diese confusion nicht mehr. Can't jemand mir helfen? Help, Hilfe!!!

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

Jimmie goes over to Flo-ox. Stands there trying to comprehend. He answers her in Aborigine (language). She looks a bit dazed as Jimmie frees her. He tosses her over his shoulder and goes from the main cave searching for the Medicine Man!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, my, where is Jimmie going to take her? Wonder, do you think this is okay? I better follow them, just in case Flowox needs me. Hold up, Jimmie, I'm on the way. Avast, Mate, sig heil, parlez vous francais? Hable esplanol? Ooday ooyay eakspay atinlay? Hey, goodbuddy, whasup?

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

him takem lady fella seein doc maken lady fella goodun..

ok jimmy, see what you can do.. cos we cant understand a word she say!

*giggle*

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, Jimmie, be careful there, you have her awfully close to those stalactites. Watch that you don't - uh oh, Flowox, are you awake? Did that hurt your shoulder? I better get in front and lead you. Slow up, it gets steep in some places. Rocks everywhere. Hold it, that looks like it's good enough to keep. Oh, a patch of them. Well, just look at this, they lead right to this little cove type spot. I wonder if they have healing powers. Good grief, that must be the world's oldest human sitting over there. One tooth, but he's smiling. I guess it's a he, with that hair it's a pretty good guess. How! Or Ho! Or Howdy. Heck, I think it's deaf as a post. And sitting there licking that stalactite, yuck!

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

Oh dear, I think the old what ever it is, seems to think Jimmie brought Flo Ox to him as a gift! Hopefully he can cure her. (To myself, he looks like he performs sacrifices!) But he's still smiling!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey, y'all, the old woman followed us and she is determined to muscle in there with Flo. Oh, well, the it doesn't seem to mind, and is taking whatever she's brought. Must be a special tea. Oops, he just took it without a word and poured it over Flo's head. These are some weird folks. Now he's pulling Flo out of his cove and the old woman seems to be gesturing. I think she has Flo's attention. I do believe she's putting her on Bobby. Yep, and climbing up herself. Now that young couple have joined her. I wish Flo could talk to us, maybe she could explain what they want. It appears they want us to leave through the new opening, and they are going. Well, crew, I think we better think about doing something like that. They know this terrain, and they seem a little excited. Flo, try hard to understand me, can you tell me what she's telling you?

Madison, WI(Zone 5a)

I'm gonna start loading up the trailer. Well, what do you know. All the fudge is gone! Should have expected that I guess. They did seem pretty interested in that fudge. Had to keep one child from licking my arm when they were cleaning me off. Let's see, we're clean, fed, and the trailer is loaded, and they've given us some nice mining equipment, in case we need to clear some of the rubble from certain tunnels, I guess. Oh, look, they gave us some of that cornmeal type hard bread that was so tasty. I'd hug you, but I'm not sure of your customs.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I'll help! It's time to move on, and I'm excited to be able to go through this cave system. I picked up some of those pretty rocks, and I want to see what some people up top think of them. We're going to be a little bit crowded on the trailers, with our "native" companions and the stuff they brought. Those hides will make nice seating. And it looks like Flo has been adopted. She seems to be coming around nicely with the old woman's ministering. What, no fudge? I noticed the young couple packing some stuff that looks like jerky, and some huge eggs. Guess we will have plenty of food, and that old medicine man sent some herbs and seeds. I do believe I have seen some of those leaves growing in my back pasture. And he had what appeared to be one of my missing cats, dried and turned into a cap. He's spooky. Okay, all aboard?! We are now in countdown mode, ready to drive through this cave and find a way out.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

I don't know what you guys are doing going along with the people but I really think I want to go back up topside. I am not happy about them coming along. It makes me nervous since we don't know what their motives are. If I was topside and you didn't show up in a reasonable timeperiod then I can call the authorities to come search for you. Besides I can have a bar-b-que dinner ready for you when you return and also some really fresh fudge too. I can also leave you with my fudge that I have here in my backpack. They haven't found it yet. It might just help you to get away if they turn sinister on you.

GOOD LUCK GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, Ponditis, I don't know how we could get you back up! There seems to be no place to climb up to those cracks, and we did jump a small lake back there. I think we have to go this way unless several of us could form a human ladder to boost you to an opening. Anyone else willing to try that? Dang it, that snooty Scotsman is tall and strong, and nowhere when we need him, which seems to be often. He could boost Horseshoe onto his shoulders and you could be boosted up to Shoe's shoulders and probably climb out. But instead, they must be off fishing or something. I bet they have savored the fruit of the vine and are all stretched out under a tree over our heads. Pond, don't give them a morsel of that fudge when you get up there. Okay, I'll try to recruit a ladder. Nigellagal, if you will stand here under this shaft of light, and Lupinelover, you climb onto her shoulders. Put your foot in my hands and step up...that's it, easy, now, no, don't lean backwards. Hey, THAT's not a step, watch your foot. (Poor Lupinelover loses her footing and flails wildly around before landing on the edge of the trailer.) Oh, Lupinelover, are you hurt? Only when you smile? But it was your other end that hit the trailer, not your smiler. Okay, want to try again? NO??? But how else can we boost Ponditis up to the top? No, I don't want to trust Jimmie with that job. We don't communicate too well and I'm not sure he will understand the intent here. The young woman is trying to tell us something, but I have no idea what. Wow, Flowox is sitting up and acting real interested, almost amused. This must look like a circus act to her. I guess we are rather funny, huh?

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

Does it seem to you that these people are anxious to get rid of us? Do you think it possible, since we havent't heard from Winter and Shoe, these people might have gotten hold of them at one time, maybe while they were sleeping off their whiskey and wine stupor? Perhaps they could be imprisioned in the deep depths of these caves? Unconscious?

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Oh my what a thought. I think these people are being too nice to us to fatten us up for later. I think we better all run for the hills as soon as we can and get Flowox a new brain if we have to. She may have eaten one of their mushrooms and gotten their language stuck in her brain. In this day and age it is surely a blessing that you can get a new brain when you really need one isn't it?

I know the way we can get away from them... We only need to get them really drunk (which shouldn't take much since they aren't used to alcohol) and pass them some more of my fudge from my backpack so they think they are blessed again and we can just drive Jimmy out of here without them even waking up for days and days. They won't know that the fudge is laced with Darvocet which will make them sleep for days. Shhhhhhhhhhhh everybody ready?

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Wow, can we really get a new brain? I think I need to look into that as soon as we surface.

I never thought about any sinister plots, it just seemed to me they were lonely. Do you think the old woman and that young couple might be prisoners and are trying to escape? You remember, the old woman followed Flowox right to that old man. I think she was protecting her. Of course, we also worried about Jimmie, and I guess he's harmless. Wonder says he is.

Okay, if Shoe and Winter are down here, they are on their own. We need to get moving. I'll brew a pot of coffee for the trip, I always like to have a little sip as I travel. It's been a long time since I ate, but pickings are slim if we don't eat with the natives. As soon as we get to the surface, I'm heading for some barbecue or a hoagie or some bean tortillas.

Flowox is listening really intently to the old woman, and she seems to understand her. I wonder what's being said. Hey, they're loading a bunch of hides and snakeskins again. That stuff is worth a fortune in the right places. I bet I could sell them on eBay with no problem at all. And I keep seeing these really fine rocks and can't wait to get them to a gemologist. Keep your eyes open, girls, anything is possible when you're in the center of the earth where there have been upheavals forever.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

LOL Aimee we aren't in the center of the earth. We are only under the grocery store near your home. As you wound around you must have gotten confused. Now if we only had a way of getting up topside quickly we could be back at your house before you could boil noodles.

Must keep everybody quiet so they don't figure out what is happening here. SHhhhhhhhhhhhh

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Woohoo, under the store, eh? They have a delicious brand of ice cream, but I can't think of a way to get into it from here. If this cave system ends up in the river, I do know how to climb the bank and get to the store. Oh, I forgot, I don't like that store, I go to one in Round Rock, 10 miles away. That way, the ice cream is melted a little around the edges when I get home, and I always eat the melted part before I put it into the freezer. If I just keep eating around the edges, more keeps melting and I might eat the whole carton before I stop. Groan, why did I mention that, not I know I'll be craving it. Are we about ready to pull out and drive through this cave to an opening?

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

*Sits up rubbing her aching foot. Owwww! Be careful there, gals!

I think we need to get back to your house, Aimee. I just know Jo is having problems keeping all the others away from El. Maybe if we go up through this crack here? (Points at a big gash in the overhead rock.)

Am I hearing things? I would swear that I hear people talking German. Who is that with Flo?

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Oh Aimee, don't you think that just this once you could get us to the store. I think that hole around the corner that I spotted when I was looking for a way out of here has the river that you are talking about in it. If we go North then we can come out near your home. I know that water is headed South from here and these people will not care in a few hours what we are doing. We can just grab Flowox and get all of us out of here. I think that would be the safest and best idea and then we can have a grand bar-b-que at your house.

Flo? What are you saying? What? Hey! Everybody, Flo seems to be coming around now I think I heard her say "Ice Cream".

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

Hey, here is an opening, but it seems there are 2 separate rivers. Now what? Get the pontoons on Bobby whilst we decide which way to go. ( RUMBLE RUMBLE ) What is that horrible rumbling sound in the distance? Can you hear it? There is something ominous in this place! Look! All of the strange people are running away screaming!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

We need to get going up the river here on the left. And HURRY! Come on all of you get back on here and lets get out of here before the geiser erupts!!!!!!!!

Whooommmmmmmmmmm HANG ON EVERYBODY!!!!! WE ARE IN FOR A ROUGH LANDING!

Whew, that was CLOSE. Is everybody here? Ahhh that is so nice to have the fresh air of the outdoors and not that musty smell of the cave. And I get to take MY shower first after Aimee takes hers. After all, it will be HER house that we go to first right after we stop in at the grocery store for that ice cream.

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

huh? what happend.... i go to sleep for just a bit and we are topside again with strangers??

north you say?
off we go then......

oh south??? but north looks like fun...besides look at all those mountains over there... anyting could be there!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Me thinks that the air in the cave has affected Wonder. She thinks that there are mountains in Texas! Or maybe she has x-ray vision now and can see the Rockies from here. Now that might be useful to us. She might be able to find neat new plants for our gardens. OR an area with really pretty rocks to put around the gardens for decorations. Hmmmm Wonder? How did you see those mountains?

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Sniff! I wish to inform you that there are mountains in Texas! In fact, there are even mountains with silver mines in them in Texas. The Lost Silver Mines, they are called. But those are, admittedly, far from here, out west. If everyone made it out okay, I say we just load up Bobby and head for the hills. But I favor traveling on back roads to avoid heavy traffic and snoopy cops who might question such a rig as ours.

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

hmmmm..........wir can trust diesen peoples. Them will show uns where to go. Let us gehen.......with them

Madison, WI(Zone 5a)

Yay! Sounds like Flo is getting better. Probably the fresh outdoor air. I'm just going to continue sitting here in back with the fudge and tortillas as I have a very impared sense of direction and if I were helping navigate, we'd probably end up in Canada. I mean, look at where we ended up when I was sitting in the navigators seat when we first started down.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Hurrumphhhh. YOU CALL THOSE MOUNTAINS???? I could walk up and down those anthills five times in an hour! Now the mountains of Montana or Wyoming THOSE ARE MOUNTAINS! LOL These things that you call mountains are what we would get a giggle out of IF we called them foothills.

Now as far as going on to the hills, I can also navigate those back roads but first we need to stop and get some of that ice cream you promised. And help Flo recover with a little rest. Plus a good shower would be VERY welcome especially for all of YOU.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Since I'm this close to home, I think I need to take a long soak in some of my new bath salts I bought on eBay, and then I need to make me a real cup of coffee and sip it as I settle in for a nap in my real bed. You guys make yourselves at home, but don't wake me up for at least 10 hours. Oh, before we go to the house, I'll run into HEB and grab some ice cream. My favorite is their own brand, especially that 1903 Homemade Vanilla. The chocolates are all good, too, and I know we are a bunch of choco freaks, so I'll get about four cartons of it. You'll find plenty of bowls in the kitchen, some styro ones under the snack bar and others in every cabinet. Flatware in the drawer under the microwave, napkins in the bottom drawer to the right of the sink. Nitey nite, y'all, I'm turning in.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Aimee, as hungry as I am for ice cream you better get ME four cartons of it. LOL I love the mint chocolate chip ice cream, chocolate, and vanilla bean. AWWWWW fooey she has already gone to bed and is fast asleep. Poor dear Aimee was so tired that when she came out of her bath she forgot to eat her ice cream. Poor Aimee. I am wondering if she is up to another adventure. We don't want to make her do something she is just doing for the group but I know the group wanted to find gold or silver so we can all buy more plants for our gardens this year. What do you gals all think? The guys have deserted us so we are on our own in this vote. Shoe and Winter must have really gotten drunk to not have joined us in this adventure.

Oh well, for now I will just climb into this recliner chair and take a nap. It feels sooooooo good to have clean hair. So so good. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Wow. a nap is just the thing! I'm good as new, and I heard that those rascals we call men might have headed to New Orleans to Mardi Gras. I'm thinking we could hop on Bobby and go down to the Big Easy ourselves. But we do need to go by way of the back roads. Jimmie alone calls attention to himself, and then there's El and all. If you ladies are up for it, I move we take it to a new thread and head for Mardi Gras.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

I second that motion, Aimee. This thread is getting too heavy for my dinosaur to carry.
