What sort of a wedding are you planning? Church? Garden? I've played for many many church weddings so I can suggest a few church songs. Which direction are ya thinking?

sledder it is informal & will be on the beach in the Florida keys. She told her dad (my DH) no coats which made him very happy. These are not teenagers but is her 1st wedding. She wants music both for coming down the aisle & before as people gather.

I think the theme song from the movie "Romeo and Juliet" is beautiful. It was called, "A Time For Us."

Some very good ideas.. keep them coming..

Sugar, I have 2 songs that I play at every wedding..no. . 3 songs that I always play. 1. Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us 2. Father Make Us One (generally I play that while the Mom's are coming in) and of course 3. Lord's Prayer

Want More? Also if you're interested I have the sheet music for these and more. I can make copies. Mine are copies of copies that I've had for years and years but I'd be happy to copy them for you. I also have several books of wedding music for someone to play for your girl. Let me know.

As far as Wedding Songs, Sugar...maybe as the Bride walks down the aisle you could play "You Are So Beautiful"...(If not with the words, then an instrumental version. Then afterwards, maybe during the "rice throwing", funk out with "Do Ya Wanna Pahty!?"

I walked down the isle of my wedding to "HYMN" I think that is how it is spelled. -- It is somewhat of a classic piece and very beautiful - I also got married outdoors. It used to be the soundtrack to the Gallo wine commercials in the 80's.

Another one is "From This Moment" by Shania Twain, an absolutely perfect wedding song (wish I had known about it when I got married) -- and don't forget "Butterfly Kisses" for her dance with Dad.

Both of my daughters got married in 2002. Yes, we are broke but happy. My oldest daughter, (unbeknownst to me)had the organist play my two favorites as the guests were seated. The Rose, and Love Me Tender. (yes, I cried, naturally) It was lovely. Lou

anne murrey's " can I have this dance for the rest of my life" is a good one to lead off the dancing with.

And don't forget " another one bites the dust"
the guys love it, I think it is foreinger.

The song "Hymn" is by Vangelis. Also - - another song that is great is "I Will Be Here" by Steven Curtis Chapman.

I agree with Redrose, Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable" is unforgettable. My 14 year old granddaughter loves Nat's music, so I think it must be timeless. On an older note, "Because of You" was played at many casual weddings back in the 60s, and I remember one wedding at which the bride and groom sang it to each, alternating verses and harmonizing on parts. Just beautiful if they can do it. Of course, it so much depends on this "not teenagers" couple. One of my daughters liked a song in the early 80s, I think it was "Follow Your Dream" or something like that, and she later told me she regretted not having the tape after she went away and married in basic training. Now, for the purely fun side of things, a friend of mine had a local band playing Lefty Frizzell's "Always Late" as people assembled on the bleachers for her very casual wedding. It had been "their song", one they loved to dance to back when we were young, and it set a nice tone. I like Horseshoe's suggestions, too. What a romantic fellow.
