Anyone intrest Aucion or Yard Sale?

We do like to go yard sale depend what they having sell not always go sometime when we feel like, so my husband like to go Aucion looking for tools and equiments thing like that so, he not always go Aucion so he saw ad newspaper about sell tools and went to Aucion today, that DH bought nice tools that he really need that will always useful tools, I don't like go Aucion it drive me nuts how it talk Bid Bid Bid over over over and long hours.

Yard sales and flea markets are lots of fun, but I don't care for auctions, either. They make me nervous!

LOL me too. I like flea markets lot of time want cost too much something for it what I like to get forget.

We used to be able to find the best bargains at flea markets, but the prices for everything seem to have gone sky-high over the last few years. I blame "Antique Roadshow" and "Collectible Treasures" on TV -- people seem to think items are worth a fortune just because they're old, LOL.

Yeah you are right that I can see why because of that like you said old worth lot money really silly and greedy. LOL sometime not really worth still want cost too much for that lot of them are crook sometime not that old when people think oh that so old fool them to make them buy, that is wrong. Have to be more careful!
I like to buy something old Victorian things that I love the way it look so beautiful but could not afford it that cost expensive just forget it. So I has old Victoria lamp just top not the bottom that I was hope to find match for the lamp top but.

like rummage sales too-only been to fleamarket a few times-was overwhelming with all the stuff they had!!!

You're correct, Bernie, eBay is more to blame than TV shows.

RedRose, I love Victorian antiques also, and hope you'll be able to find a bottom half for your lamp at a reasonable price. Nothing looks warmer to me than Victorian things.

I love to go to Farm auctions. We have a great weekly newspaper here in Michigan that lists nothing but auctions here in Michigan and northern Ohio and Indania.
I like to buy the box lots with lots of old stuff.

I have started getting into garage/yard
sales, but the estate sales are good,
because they have a lot of DIFFerent
stuff, not just people's discards, but
whole houses full of stuff.

I usually end up rescuing house plants
for a song, cuz, the people in the home
have died and the plants are neglected,
so look sad and unwanted.

I am also into old books, and can find
really good stuff that no one knows is
worth anything. Also get good plant
pots this way!

You just need to know it is a "real"
estate sale or yu might get ripped off.
