Summer Round-Up

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Ok ya'll,it's time to start planning the annual DG Roundups. We have a special forum just for discussing plans for our get togethers. If you go over to the right and click the forum link in the Daves Garden Network box at the bottom of the column,it will show all the forums available.Go to the Round up forum and check out what's going on.All of you newbies....you can't imagine how much fun it is to get together in person. We visit, eat, swap plants, eat, sing songs,eat...maybe Shoe will show up again and sing to us!

I'm planning on hosting one of the South East Roundups this summer here in West KY.I have a resort on Kentucky Lake all picked out and all we need are dates that people can attend.
I think the RU farther east was being planned for the first part of June, and I was hoping for the latter part of June for the one here, but we need input from the DG Members as to what your plans are,so we can start getting things going. The best places will be booked if we wait much longer.

As a side trip,I have about 25 free tickets to the Museum of the American Quilter's Society in Paducah, and Mom has volunteered to take all who are interested on a tour.Ellen and Kathleen have both been and can tell you all about it.

The resort I have picked is about 1 1/2 hours from Nashville,so if anyone wants to fly in,it's not so bad if several of you want to get a rental car and carpool up.The resort has a motel, cabins and camping facilities.A beach for the kiddos,a restaurant, bike paths,a pavillion for get togethers and is family owned.

We need input so we can get things under way...here are the hyperlinks to the KY RU threads.

Great Melody!! I'll post on the Round up forum ...to keep it all together...Thanks!! Jo

Melody is right, folks. We had a wonderful time. You won't want to miss out on this Roundup. The quilting museum is a must for anyone the least bit interested in quilts or even crafts and quilting history. My DH loved it and that is unusual for him. Melody's mom is the dearest sweetest person and is a wonderful guide. (Could this be where Melody got her sweetness and talents?) You won't want to miss that tour. Yep, we eat, and eat and eat some more. The singing is so much fun you won't want to miss out on that. I can assure you that if Melody says the place is great it will be more than great. It will be fabulous. Head on over to the Round Up forum and let us know that you can attend!!!!
