thermometer please

Antrim, Northern Ire, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

I think this would be a brilliant idea.

on the menu list on the right hand side could we have a thermometer?

when I'm answering threads which need a temperature added I have to run downstairs, outside and look at my max/min thermometer to covert oC to oF.

fingers crossed!

Dave may choose to incorporate your idea. In the meantime, there are several weather icons you can add to your desktop:

Weatherbug: http://www.weatherbug.com/aws/index.asp (says they have international, too)

Weathercast: http://www.weathercast.com/ (it's the one I use, but I don't know how international it is)

Froggy: http://www.gitd.de/sample_froggy.php (says it's international)

And here's some opinions and links to a few others: http://www.webattack.com/freeware/misctools/fwweather.shtml

It is very handy to have the temperature always at your fingertips :)

all I ask for is a simple thermometer like you would see in a book not one that actually shows what temperature it is outside eg at a glance I can see 60F = 15C +-

something simple like this http://www.mgscientific.com/store/images/thermometer.jpg nothing fancy.

I think what Mark wants is a converter showing F and C.It would be very handy.

yes but means launching another Explorer.

maybe I'm just being too lazy to run down the stairs and buy another thermometer to keep in my computer room.

maybe I'm just bone idle full stop/period LOL

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

Well, it doesn't take that long.. if you have it in your favorites.

OK I'll do it

Ahhh, sorry for the confusion.

Well, now that I understand what you're wanting.....hmmmm.

(I'm thinking outloud here...) I know celsius/fahrenheit in the PDB zones section has been a big bone of contention for a lot of users.

What if we (Dave?) set it up so that when you get to that section of the PDB, you can click on the zone to see the temperature ranges in both celsius and fahrenheit? It would take a bit of doing (I think I could do it myself, but I may need Dave's help, and he may have a different/better idea altogether.)

But - in general terms - would that help or be more confusing? It would be one more click, but you can always right-click to have it open in another window...

Evert, thanks for the temp conversion site. Is there one for measure, as well?

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

No :( Try google, I don't have one in my site..

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Thanks, Evert. Sometimes, when corresponding with my Euro friends, I get confused on weight, distance, etc. A handy conversion like the one you posted would be so helpful.

Weezy...this is the one I'm CONSTANTLY referring to! Check it out. http://www.convert-me.com/en/
It has it all. So convenient!

And if you just want C to F, or vice versa http://www.cimko.com.tr/About/Cf.htm

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Thanks, Shoe. I added to my favorites under the name 'Convert Me'. That ought to make Dennis take an extra look!

HAH!....Love it!!! :>)

Mark, just drag the hyperlink's icon to your LINKS bar in Internet Explorer if that's what you're using. It'll be there nice and handy that way. :)
