How come it says there are 69 Forums and I'm watching 78 of them??? I swear I didn't drop a drink!!

I removed about a dozens forums this morning, as part of my annual "New Year's Housecleaning" tasks that have something of a tradition for me.

Those forums that received less than 2 posts in the past month got removed. Nobody has noticed them gone (and I bet most folks can't even tell me which were removed) :)

Anyway, those 13 forums that are removed are gone because I like active forums. If a forum isn't active, it goes out the window.

You can reset your number by simply going to your forum preferences and submitting that page.

I hope Annuals is not gone.......... not much to post on that one in winter though I was thinking of taking a pic of my incredible wave petunia that is still flowering.

So I guess that means if there were posts on those forums with info that I thought would always be accessible to me, that it is gone? I know there are a couple of threads that had promises of plants from me that I was going to refer to in spring to see who I had promised what to. I will have to think about which forums they were on.

I have all the forums backed up (every piece of data at DG is backed up) so if you have a specific thread or post that you'd like, but doesn't exist on the site anymore, I can fairly easily dig it up for you.

Yep, alpine forum's gone and there were some recipes in there for hypertufa + i'm planning to grow a lot more of the little darlings and was hoping to ask questions :(

It seemed to me that the posts under some of the pulled forums really could have gone under other ones. With each new subdivision of topic area comes a split in readership, you know? The hypertufa planters, for example (since yours is the last post I just read, Philo!) - wouldn't something like that be good in handyman or crafts? I would not have thought of looking in the alpine forum, for that's not the kind of gardening I think of when considering my own yard.

Dave, I know that some of the threads are rather inactive, but aren't some of them rather seasonal?

I came to this forum to post that I was missing forums....but I see the answer even before I post the question! LOL (but I DID notice!!) Jo

gw, I'd never think of looking in handyman, just link this in my head with growing plants needing good drainage.
Perhaps for me it would be Garden Talk, but then it gets lost as that moves through quickly.........

Between the FAQs and Garden Terms, you should be able to find recipes for Hypertufa :)

LOL This is crazy! At first I didn't notice the changes, then when I came here and saw that he had made changes I went back and looked at my homepage...There were 70 and I was watching 74 of them!! So I done as Dave said I went back and submitted it again...now there are 70 and I am watching 65!! Figure that one out!!
