So, what did you get?

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

As a Christmas present?

I got some candies, chocolate, 3 different kind of woolleen gloves, a book, a torch, money, new harddrive (80 G, wohoo!), and a CD-R/RW Drive.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

That is a great haul Evert! Merry Christmas. I got a new camera :~) We are working over the holiday so Bob gave it to me early. We had agreed to not give gifts this year but he knew how much I wanted it and did it anyway. I sure am glad he did!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

It's only 8PM/24th here on the Canadian west coast. Santa hasn't gotten this far yet. I have been told not to shake, squeeze or smell anything under the tree. I feel like I'm 8 years old. LOL

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Wow Evert, you got some great goodies there.

I got lots of things for our new home from the kids, (pictures, candles, stuffed snowman, a Swiffer wet mop that I've wanted for years, a lazy susan), plus some bath and body lotions and soaps, flavored coffees, and a nice check from my MIL which is SO nice since our TV recently blew up, and DH got me a Happy Habits Nun figurine and my new corner computer desk is on order. I feel so spoiled, and we still have tomorrow with my family.

I have to relate a funny story we told the kids tonight. When I opened the bath and body stuff the first thing I brought out was the bubble bath. I looked at DH and said, "BUT NOT SO MANY BUBBLES!" Then he started laughing too because a few nights ago I decided to take a swim in our newly hooked up whirlpool bathtub. I put some bubble bath in, but it was evidentally too much. When he peeked in to tell me he was going to bed, he got the funniest look on his face because the bubbles were almost covering me and running out the side of the tub.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas!

Hugs,
Joan

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Oooh, a bubble bath sounds sooo nice right now! It's cold with freezing rain outside. Brrrrr!

I got a beautiful stained-glass window with birds in it, a stained glass daffodil and a neat silver-plated many-petaled bowl with an insert in it to hold cut flowers upright. Howie got a big glass stein with the Budweiser wagon and logo on it, along with the portfolio edition of travel Scrabble. Our friends gave Howie one of those percussive back massagers and a package of various hot sauces by Emeril. Amy gave me an awesome scrapbook supply caddy that has wheels and a pull-up handle like luggage. Waaay cool. :)

Our main presents to each other were a new computer monitor and a 27" TV when Wal-Mart had their big sale the day after Thanksgiving.

I think I racked up this year, Dh bought me a beautiful Diamond ring!!! I was sooo excited too! I felt like a teenager in love all over again!! We have been together 18years and I am just now getting the diamond! bless his heart he done soo good though and boy I sure wondered why he was hording all that extra money LOL
also he gave me a mattress pad with a brain(warms only the parts of your body that need warming! I love it) also a FoodSaver thingy puls extra bags, a throw blanket.
We played the gift exchange game at both the inlaws house's. I wound up with a funnel cake maker kit from one game and a meat and cheese gift box at the other. It was a fun game indeed!

It sounds like everyone has been enjoying the holiday. I got a photo calendar from my parents. Sometime this summer they came to my house and took pictures of my cat Ginger with a flag scarf wrapped around her. They took some great photos - I think Ginger should be a cat model. I also got a great knitted throw with...beautiful fuzzy cats on it and fish on the border. I also got a cat Santa who has fish in his paw. Do you see a theme?

My best gift was from a Christmas Angel. I was driving back from my brother's house. It's still snowing here after some rain this morning. My tires got stuck in the ruts of another car and my car started to skid into oncoming traffic. I turned the wheel into the skid and saw that I was going to broadside a car and get broadsided by another car. All the cars came to a stop and I think we were all waiting for the sound of the crash. I ended up perpendicular to the traffic in the oncoming lane. No accident, no one was hurt and my heart didn't stop. This certainly is a Merry Christmas.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Wow elsie, Glad to hear that you are ok! Boy that was a close call now wasn't it?! Sounds like you did have a Christmas Angel riding with you.

But i think my best present is my little granddaughter-she just so pretty and alert and a good baby-even sleeps for hours-mine were all only 20 minute nappers and never slept through the nights until they were about 2yrs old!
i think i did pretty good! ;)
merry christmas everyone and a happy new year-happy birthday dave!

Mollybee I had a wonderful Christmas. I really do think the best thing of all was not getting into that accident. I really do believe my Cristmas Angel was on my shoulder. Maybe my angel reminded me to steer into the skid when what you want to do is turn the wheel in the opposite direction. I know I would have felt really bad if I had ruined someone else's holiday because of an accident.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I got exactly what I was wishing for and can't believe that I actually got them.
Now don't forget that I am a FEMALE...but I got a 10" Compound Miter Saw. Yippee !!! Now I can make that Oblisk that CoCo sent me the pattern to make and also the one that Goldog posted. I love working with wood, and my arms got so tired sawing everything by hand.
My DD/SIL bought me a pair of moisture proof gardening gloves with a Gift Certificate to one of my favorite nurseries...I was so excited. I also got a pair of ergonomically shaped pruning shears...ooohhh are they nice. Also got some colonge, a book for new Grandmas (hehe) and a small statute for my garden.
We had a lovely day here, especially with a new 5 mo. child to buy for and he had fun with all the wrapping paper and bows. lol
I hope everyone had a nice day. We felt very fortunate to be able to have our whole family here together.

Now on to a bright and safe New Year.

Antrim, Northern Ire, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

£65/$97/E104 in vouchers for a camera store in Belfast

Silver Lake, OH(Zone 5b)

I was baptized Christmas Eve and officially joined my church family, which means I got about 100 new family members!

My sister and BIL gave us a DVD player of all things! Plus some movies Spaceballs and another one for DH that I forgot already! Sis bought me a SLINKY animal print nightgown, too.

My MIL and FIL went to about a dozen stores to find me a 30 cup coffee urn, and got DH a 24 foot aluminum ladder!! SIL gave a very nice Avon watch that has a lot of interesting charms on it...BIL gave me a 1000 piece puzzle that unveils an Alfred Hitchcock mystery.

In our gift exchange for DH's extended family I got a GORGEOUS wind chime and a little girl statue for in my garden!!!

DH gave me two wire light-up trees, a little one that is multicolor and a 7 foot blue one which I promptly put up on the back porch, the effect at night is like looking into mirrors that reflect the beautiful blue lights. He also bought me a diamond and hearts bracelet but as I was trying to put it on, it broke! So we have to return it. He also gave me red terry cloth slippers with kitties on them, a pair of CZ dressy earrings, a Christmas pin that is a golden kitty tangled in Christmas lights (too cute!) a new slotted spoon (mine melted!) and an oven timer - which allowed me to discover that my oven heats about 50 degrees TOO HOT~! I also got a movie and he says that I can buy ET if I can find it before they take it off the market. I got hot rollers, and new Totes high topped snowboots! And MASTER COOK software that has all the Better Crocker recipe books in it! I have already begun entering my favorites. : )

We both got Christian CD's - he got Michael Card and I got Ginny Owens!

I am just amazed when I list all this stuff, and I know I may have even forgotten something. What an amazing Christmas. Our first Christmas in our new home. : )

Merry Christmas indeed!!

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

mark, what do you mean 98$/104€? =) http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic?margin_fixed=0&expr=USD_EUR&lang=en&pref_list=EUR_USD_GBP&menu_rows=10&date_fmt=normal&exch=EUR_USD

That's quite a lot of money. What are you going to buy?

Cortlandt Manor, NY(Zone 6a)

My husband I got each other a digital video camera and his parents got us a new digital camera.

(Zone 5a)

I got a five in one tool, it has a mini jig saw, sander, driller, soudering tool, and wood carving tools.
We said we weren't going to exchange presents this year but I just couldn't pass this tool up, it will help me with my gourd art. We usually wait till after Christmas to do our shopping when the sales prices are lower. I did get him a book that he has been wanting for a long time on astronomy, you would have thought that I gave him the world, he was so thrilled.

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

I got a partially-finished quilt with finished matching quilted pillow from my SIL!!!! She couldn't finish it because had to take her daughter to the Emergency Room after slicing her finger off when cutting fabric :*( But my niece is OK: not even stitches required *sigh of relief*

I got a whole lot more stuff, but the quilt is what really brightened my day.

Best of all, I got my Florida niece visiting for 10 days :) Plus my brothers and their families visiting for a day or two along the way :)

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Looking over these kists makes me think it truly was a VERY Merry Christmas indeed.

My DH bought me 7 daylilies from my wishlist. About a week before I received a card telling me he had purchased them for spring delivery, they did not mention which ones he had bought!!! He made me wait til Christmas morning before he would tell me which ones he chose.

The waiting almost drove me crazy, think I might now appreciate what the kids all feel like with all those boxes under the tree!!

Here are the seven: Admiral's Braid, Barbara Mitchell, Blackberry Candy, Canadian Border Patrol, Emperor Butterfly, Fantasy Montage, and Royal Braid. Isn't that just beyond describing.

About a week earlier I ran across a VERY VERY good deal on a chipper/shredder and bought it. The fun part is that here it is the end of Dec. and I've now groung up about 500 pounds of leaves and added them to my leaf mold pile!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

wow lilyfan! don't know which I'd like more, those wonderful DLs or the chipper! and welcome to DG btw
