To my friends here on DG, I'd like to wish all of them a
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR
I'll be away from the puter for a while since we are busy preparing for my younger brother's marriage on the 29th. I'll be back again only on New Year's Day. So I thought of doing so now itself.

Dinu, how thoughtful. Thank you so much for your holiday wishes. Please accept my thoughts of blessing, in return, for your younger brother's wedding and for you and your entire family.

Thank you Dinu and a Happy Christmas to you and your family.

Merry Christmas to all of you too. I already had a Christmas get-together with my husband's extended family. There was about 50 of us in one small house. But we had a blast. Some of my favorites were there, loads of nieces, nephews, greats, and great-greats. Also, as most of you know, my spousal unit had 2 heart attacks a few years back and took a long time to rehab enough to feel like making pots. But he made some recently and sold them for magnificent prices on ebay, giving us some cash for a good Christmas for a change.
I thought you'd like to see these, but it is not a solicitation, all of these are sold....
(Later) Er, I got the pix too big; you will have to scroll down to see all of them.

What great looking pots!
We had a houseful yesterday and another bunch coming Christmas day. We go the my brothers on Jan 5, for my side of the family. There are five of us, brothers and sister. We take turns hosting the get together, ours is next year. Love the fellowship with family you don't see as often as you should.

Thanks friends.
Woodspirit, those pots are lovely!
The marriage of my brother went on well. It was a great occasion to meet many relatives and friends. My uncle was visiting here from Chicago and he was a special guest. I had invites some old classmates of mine and we had a good time together. Two of them (girls) hadn't seen each other for 23 years! Yesterday, our server was down and so could not mail much. Last night, my friend (another old classmate) had called me to wish me for the new year. That call was from USA and we were all thrilled.

Dinu, you have certainly had a lot of reunions with friends and classmates recently -- what fun! Glad to hear that so many relatives and friends were able to attend your brother's wedding. I hope that you, your family and loved ones all have a very happy new year.

Thank you whiterose. Speaking of reunious, I can now proudly say that I am responsible and instrumental in bringing together many classmates who were together from class 1 to 7. We finished the 7th in the year 1970. So, 30 years had gone past when I began this 'hunting business'. Locating and tracing them was a very tough job and each one has its own story. Some are in the USA and some scattered all over. We were about 75 or so in the class and I have listed 36 of them! Only a few of them were in touch, depending on their own little groups. But now, I have circulated the addresses of all 36 to all of them. I feel sad that only a handful of us are serious about keeping in touch. But something tells me that my effort has indeed inspired at least a few of them to remember each other on birthdays and anniversaries. When some of met a couple of years ago at a rendezvous after such a long gap, the expressions on our faces were simply inexplicable! Absolute joy. I was of a very shy nature in the schooldays and that was a trademark character. Me doing such a thing has raised eyebrows among the classmates. Nostalgia is at its best when we meet. And I enjoy every moment of it.

I applaud you for creating community by bringing together your classmates. Yes, nowadays our family, friends and acquaintances are scattered all over the globe, and staying in touch is difficult -- finding out where people have gone after they've spread out is even harder. What a lot of effort and time you have put into doing that. I am sure that you have inspired others to do the same -- widening ripples in a pond! That you have done this in spite of past shyness is even nicer.
