Mini, it must have been extra thrilling to see so many shooting stars because you weren't expecting it -- what a joy it must have been to be outside, looking up, at the precise time of this meteor shower! Shooting starts are so beautiful, I'm really glad you and DH got to see them together. Did you make wishes on them?

Whiterose, Yes we did made wishes on each shooting we saw!

Great! Hope every single one of them comes true, even better than you dream!

There was an old wives' tale: one who sees shooting stars will hear some bad news. This had upset me when I was young. But as I grew up and came to know what these were, my superstitions vanished.

Last year, there was a meteor shower which was announced over the media. People sat up late, looking up at the dark sky, straining their necks. They found only stationary stars and not any shooting stars! They got utterly disappointed and got a pain in the necks as a reward. I too tried to do so but lost my patience by midnight and hit the bed.
