My best friend...my sister

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I am a very lucky lady to have my Sister, Sue as my best friend. We don't look alike and have completly different body shapes, but our hearts are united like one. She is 3 yrs. younger than me.

This was taken yesterday at her Womens Christmas Brunch at her DD school. They do this every year and she takes me as her guest. All the tables are decorated differently, and each group of friends at the table brings drinks and some appetizers. They raffle some door prizes after lunch, and our table won 9 of them...my sis won 2 and I won one. After we starting winning so many, my sis starting reciting "go table...go table...go table", before it was done, the whole place was doing it. We had a great time.

Donna, what a lovely picture of you and Sue! Those table decorations are really pretty, also. How wonderful that you and Sue share such a beautiful relationship, and that you celebrate it here.

donna, Isn't it wonderful to have a sister who is your best friend? I have one too, and I cherish our friendship.
The table decorations look awesome, glad your table won so many prizes....

Sisters do make the bestest friends, even all my adopted ones!! Two lovely ladies, and it looks like a wonderful gala event!

Donna,

My sister, Julie is my best friend, too. She is also 3 years younger than me, blond, and skinnier to boot! Y'all look more alike than we do, I see a resemblance around the mouth and through the middle of your faces (does that that sense?). Julie and I don't LOOK at all alike, but we SOUND exactly the same! It isn't unusual for one of us to say something to someone, then have them look at the other one when they answer.

Nice to see you both -- Here's to sisters! (Spoken as an only child whose had to adopt a few sisters in life).

Wow, you guys...I didn't think that many people would have sisters/brothers as their best friends. Many times they just tolerate each other...kinda like my youngest sister. She is so different than Sue and I. We try to include her in everything we do for the family, but she doesn't seem to want to most of the time...oh well...her loss.

Ronna, I covered up our faces from the nose bridge up..and your right, there is a remarkable resemblance. I never noticed it before, thanks!!

Kimberly...my DD is an only child too, and get this, her husband is an only child also. So their children will not have any Aunts, uncles, or cousins. They are both lucky to each have very good childhood friends with families and they said that their kids will just learn to love them like family. What a great outlook they have.

Julie and I have a little sister, too! She's 8 years younger than Julie, 11 years younger than me, and just kind of tolerates us, too. Part of it is because we have different interests, part of it is because she always felt that I bossed her around too much.

My sister and I look a lot alike, our voices sound alike, we are mistaken for each other, all of that is fun but I would love it if we were also close. Those of you who are close emotionally to your siblings have a real blessing, be thankful for it and don't take it for granted. Friends can fill in the gaps, they are a Godsend.

Growing up with 5 brothers, I didn't get my sister till I was 10 years old. I love her dearly but she is 600 miles away. She has one little girl who I miss immensely. So indeed as Mary says count your blessings. I do have 3 daughters and my middle daughter is very close. So it is so good Donna that you can enjoy your sister as much as you do. :)
