Trying Southern trip again

Well, here we go again. The pastor's wife and I are going to attempt once again to make a car trip to South Carolina. And again, we're watching the weather. Would everyone first of all pray for us for safe driving, peace of mind, and good weather conditions. Second, would you please let me know your week's weather? We're trying to leave PA early Wednesday and driving straight through.

Looks like smooth sailing this week, but maybe a bit damp. We have possible light rain forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday but the daytime temps are above freezing. Thursday looks best. That's the day I leave for Florida to fetch things for my mother, whom I just put in Assisted Living.

A large portion of central North Carolina and South Carolina is still without power, perhaps until Wednesday. That means business (like gas stations) as well as homes. I notice things like that because I drove across NC right after hurricane Fran, and gas stations had no power to pump gas. I was on fumes when I finally crossed into southern Virginia where they had power.

Praying for a safe trip for you. And yes, many people still without electricity. It hasn't been fun. But hey, we're ok and back online and thankful! Enjoy your trip and visit with Jennifer. Hope you get to visit next summer. Hugs...

After several more phone calls we're leaving Thursday morning. Apparently there's a cold front coming again **sigh**. This trip and the previously attempted one are driving me absolutely crazy. Every time the phone rings I hesitate to answer. It's so bizzare...But it appears driving down Thursday is best. Here's praying it is....

If you are travelling through MD, they are calling for lots of freezing rain here in central MD, snow in western MD tonight, tomorrow. But day temps around 48 on Thursday, so roads should be ok then.

We will probably get the storm system first: they are calling for freezing rain/sleet tonight and tomorrow here in OH. Will let you know how it is tracking tomorrow. Best luck on your trip.

With weather conditions the way they've been here in PA all day I sure am glad we didn't leave today. Ice, ice, ice.

Sledder, I am not sure if you are able to check this during your visit, but the latest weather prediction is for another storm arriving Friday afternoon, continuing through Saturday. Could be 3-5" of snow by the time it is over. This is for the whole state of OH, and probably it will also be in PA.
