Lost & Found, Cajun Style

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I meant to post this a while back, and something TLynn said in the pets forum reminded me of it. If you're ever hunting in the swamps and bayous of Louisiana and lose your hunting dog, be sure to check here in a day or two:

LOL, now that is priceless.

What a hoot, I wonder how many people have found their animals there! This is to cute.

Howie wouldn't get in there for the picture.... ;)

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

GW, why didn't you get in and let him take your picture?
Is this a pen someone put out in case their dog was found, or is it a permanent "pick-up station" for the whole area?

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

permanent pick up station..it was at a boat launch where a hunting club hunts out of. Great idea isn't it...I suppose that way hunters can check in when a dog is lost. I bet it is used alot.

Thanks, Lisa. I think I should put one on the highway for all the cats people lose around my place. They never seem to find them.

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

ha! somehow I bet they don't want to find them, kinda like here at my house...

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Awww, Lisa, you really think so? And all these years, I thought they were lost cats. It did seem funny that none of them ever had collars and all needed to be neutered. The dogs usually find their way home, but the cats learn to live in the woods. And raid my feed dishes.

lol aimee..

Hmmm I wonder if I should put one of these up here in giant size? In the last few weeks, I have had two cows (different times), one horse, three dogs and several cats that showed up at my house. All but the dogs and cats found their homes in a few hours. ( I would have liked the cows and horse to stay!)

LOL Pond - so have you still got the dogs and cats?

That cage thing doesn't look strong enough to keep a hunting dog in gardenwife!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

You're right, Philomel, it sure doesn't, LOL. Looks like maybe that aluminum siding was added later, after a few dogs chewed/dug through the chain link's gaps!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

No philomel I took the dogs and cats down the road three houses to the no kill animal shelter. LOL She said that they weren't taking any more animals for now and I convinced her that they would be better off there than in my yard beating up on my animals or chasing my livestock. LOL She made room instantly. :)))))
