Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

Harrisburg, NC(Zone 7a)

We got ice, ice and more ice here in Charlotte, NC. Trees are coming down, power is out for more than 660,000 customers. Police say stay home! I still have power so far, hope it stays that way!

Hope so, too, cnlady. Praying for all affected by the storms in any way.

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

I'm getting snow here in PA. I spoke with AngelSong in Greenville, SC this morning and they're also covered in ice.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

All we got is rain, and my kids are soooooo bummed. They were hoping and praying for the ice and snow to hit us so they'd be out of school. No such luck - if you could call it that :)

MD &, VA(Zone 7b)

We've got 7" of that white stuff already :( Now freezing rain mixing in with it. Supposed to stop in a couple of hours! Yuck! Yuck! and YUCK!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

I'm thankful we didn't get the Ice storm predicted, just a bunch of rain last night - in the high 40's today and sunny, but 27 tonight. I feel for those who got the really bad weather.

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

We were spared the worst of it; woke up to about 2" of white stuff. Just enough to make shoveling a chore :(

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

SHOE???

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Vic?? - Thousands are without power in NC. Hoping it won't last long for them.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

I think Shoe and Darius are in the thick of it!!

Wow, thanks Azalea -- didn't realize there were so many members in NC. Praying for all.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Hope everyone is safe and they get power restored to all the homes quickly. It's amazing how much damage the ice can do. You'd never think a little coating of ice could bring down a huge trees.

Cortlandt Manor, NY(Zone 6a)

We are in the middle of s. storm. I have been home w/ the kids today. We just went out on the sled. My neighbor said the school bus couldn't make it up the hill - - that was on the way home after sch. was canceled. Seems like there is almost a foot out there. Now I have to see how DH makes it home from NYC -- could be a bit hairy since he doesn't have the 4Wdrive today, I am also hoping the train lines aren't affected.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

I'm here and accounted for, now... safe and warm. About 6" of snow, then some freezing rain. We were just on the edge of the freezing rain so we didn't have much of it, nor lost any power. Areas 10 miles south from here weren't so lucky.

I understand from Louisa (near Charlottesville) that Vic is without power and it may be 2 days to restoration. She and Hank have heaters and other back-up so they're okay. Haven't heard from Woodspirit1 but that area is in the think of the forest and power outages.

Horseshoe is near the area hardest hit by ice in NC. Carol7 may have talked to him by telephone but I haven't heard from her either.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

My SIL live in Charlotte NC so far her place area are fine but not know what going to happen later, we are all worry about them and others too and my son live there too with other SIL too.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

We got about 2" of snow and 1" of ice.Lots of folk nearby are without power.Red Cross setting up shelters. The power flicked a couple of times last night, but stayed on.They are saying Sat. at the earliest for power to those without...and some of those are just a couple miles down the road.We can see the dark area.

It got warm enough for the roads to clear today and most are even dry.Supposed to be 39* tomorrow,so the bulk of what is here should melt.

We were at the southern edge of the ice and snow here in KY. My mom lives in Paducah, about 45 miles north and she got over 6" snow and 2" ice.

I took pics today,I'll pop out and see what they look like and post them.

Seymour, IN(Zone 5b)

Here in Indiana, we got lucky and only got 6 inches of snow. None of the ice. Schools were closed due to slick country roads. I' m home sick with the flu, so I didn't have to get out in it. Lou

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Am praying for each and every one of you, your families and loved ones (including your furbabies) to be safe and warm and protected. So glad to hear from those who were able to post here, and hope that power will be restored soon to all who do not have it.

Cortlandt Manor, NY(Zone 6a)

No problems with DH getting home - - plow just came by and DH is out shoveling - fortunately he has learned to manuver pretty good in snow. There were 10 cars at the bottom of our street that decided to park there and walk home. Thank goodness no power outages here! Praying for those who aren't as fortunate.

Surry, VA(Zone 7b)

We made it through the storm without losing any power, but the roads were slick. I chatted with Shoe just before the storm and he told me he has a generator and was stocking up on items just in case. I'll see if I can get in touch with him by phone this morning and see how he is doing.
The power company here is sending linemen down to NC to help out. Let's hope and pray that it won't take too long for everyone everywhere to get their power restored.

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

To give you an idea what it's like in Upstate SC ...

I am thankful to have Laurens Electric Co, and a warm apartment. Many of my co-workers are stuck with Duke Power, and are not fortunate enough to have power yet. It is warming up some now, but I still can't imagine not having lights or warm water to shower with....

Surry, VA(Zone 7b)

I spoke to Shoe this morning and he said to tell you all "howdy" and they are doing fine. He lost power, but did that storm finally make him put some shoes on? I posted this question in the parking lot forum so I wouldn't sidetrack this thread.

Thank you, Carol! So glad you and Shoe are doing fine. What an igloo you are presently living in. Hope power is restored soon to one and all.

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

Hope for all hit by the storms, that everyone is safe and that power is restored quickly. I rather have a foot of snow rather than any ice. Driving is so bad-been there-done that- do not want to ever do that again. I will be checking with family out East, I haven't heard anything about NJ-but figure that they got about the same as NY.

Palmyra, VA(Zone 7a)

We have about 6" of snow yesterday. I handled the early driving ok, but when I came back from work last night I was forced off the road by an incoming truck driving in the middle of the road. The driver didn't get over to his/her side until the truck passed me by 50' or so. I was stuck for awhile until a lady came by, she drove my car while I pushed it, after clearing a path infront of the tires.

I'm ok. Minor scratches and bangup fender where I slammed the car into the side of a hill.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Too bad Tim - I'm sure you are missing Florida now. Glad you were not hurt.

Me, too, and ditto Solly!

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Tim I am so glad you are OK after your winter storm driving :)
