Actually it is not the day of Evert, but my first name Aimo. Evert's day is 9th September and Johannes is 24th June.

Is "name day" like a birthday? And you have 3 of them? (Sorry, I haven't read any previous posts about this topic.)

Is your day of birth a Name day, when you get your first name? And then, later on, you get another name?

I like this idea of Name Day...not sure how the rules work by my "Horseshoe Name Day" would possibly be Jan 1st.

On Name Day, do ya'll give presents? And have a party?

Well, namedays are like a kind of "mini-birthdays". Usually the nameday is only important, of what you are usually called. So we only celebrate September 9th if we do.. It is the "Evert day". And yes I do have 3 namedays (see my first reply).

After a child is born, in about 1-2 months of it, we have the naming ceremony. Then the baby will get God father/God mother and his/her name(s). In Finland, you can have max. 3 names. So you don't name your baby in the hospital after birth before going home. On namedays we rarely give presents. I usually get cards from my grandparents and godparents. Some people have party, most don't. We used to invite some relatives on namedays to have some coffee and cake and such.
