I was just getting ready to ask this question too.

When I got my newsletter I thought it must be a typo....clicked straight here and it's true.

WOW!

About a month ago I took over the Plants By Mail FAQ (PBM-FAQ) website. Dave agreed to host this site on his server and provide a database structure for it.

For about three weeks, I've been working on converting all the history (it's massive, going back to the mid-90's) into a file that could be loaded into the new structure. Dave assigned a user name to each person who submitted comments; hence the sudden increase in members. If you go to http://www.plantsbymail.net you'll see the old, familiar site; it will soon be replaced by a much more user-friendly format.

It was important to rush through the conversion because there was a 10-month backlog of comments that hadn't been posted. I knew if I didn't focus all my efforts on it, the backlog would continue to swell, and users would lose interest when the site appeared to be languishing.

For those of you patiently waiting for me to get the roses loaded in the PDB, I thank you for your patience. My full attention will very soon return full-force to that important project :)

Looks like a great place to find something new, (Just looked over Pepper Joes Hot Peppers That Sizzle). Fun site but a little spendy for seeds.
Great job!

Some things I don't keep under my hat very well :) This is one of them. Without further ado, the new format is up and running here: http://plantsbymail.net/

I'd appreciate your comments and feedback on it, and comparisons to the "old" PBM-FAQ site, if you were familiar with it. And if you spot anything that doesn't seem to work right, let me know. Big (BIG) kudos to Dave for all his work to help me launch it - I would have never been able to do it without him!

Go_Vols, it looks fabulous! My only question is, will it eventually replace Garden Watchdog?

And for us, should we sign up separately? That is, should we use our DG name or create a new one?

Best of luck in your new endeavor :)

For the time being, I want the current PBM users to become comfortable with the new format. Eventually we will probably combine the two sites. As for signing in, you can use your DG user name and password to sign in on that site, too.
