MavieRose,
I truly hope you will live better,
and I am sure you will with
GOD's goodness and mercy to you.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Thank U Bitty1. unfortunately no rest for the weary body until the move is over and done with. even at that i doubt very much if i will ever finished. all i know is there is too much work now and much more even later. one thing for sure i will have PEACE!!!

thanks Jianhua... i sent u an email, it bounced back to me. did u change server???

Shangshui, Henan, China(Zone 7b)

MavieRose,
My email address has changed from 371.net to yahoo.com.
As soon as you settle down your resident, let me know.
a Christmas envelope is getting off to you.

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

I just read the other thread where you were having the trouble, MaVie. Bless your heart! I do pity your neighbor, being saddled with a condition like that. But that doesn't excuse it all and I feel so very bad for you, too! I'm so glad you were able to salvage the best plants! :)!

And you found that most gorgeous house!!!!!! *Very Big Toothy Grin!* ANY house with an acre for planting is gorgeous to me! LOLOL! Once you get settled and rested from the move, you'll have to tell us all about it ~ nice kitchen? Roomy bathroom? Any nice views of the yard? How exciting! I hope all goes well and quickly with the move so you can get to the fun part ~ designing that garden! :)!!!!!!!!!!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

MaVie, how's the move coming along? been thinking about you packing and unpacking. Hope you're halfay settled anyway. Or better yet, fully settled in.

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

I am so happy that you are on your way; glad that you got out before the neighbor destroyed anything else and grateful and hopeful that she will get the help she needs. A new garden design, new plants, new start-wonderful place. Please keep us posted.

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Are you all settled in yet, MaVie? Here's hoping all is going well!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

no, not yet :(! our move is dependent on the owner whose new house is not yet finished. he called the other night, told us the move should go smoothly beginning Mon. Dec 9th for him, that is. i hope so! i could hardly wait to move and get settled in.

on the positive note, the schitzo, from what i heard is moving out of here this coming weekend. that would be great if she does, there will be peace once she has gone. it is so hard to deal on a daily basis, not knowing what is liable to happen.

don't worry folks, i will surely keep u posted and perhaps post some photo of the new place. pls. bear with me a while more. thanks for ur support, i surely needed it at this point.

Enjoyed seeing this update, MaVie -- it be will be so good for you to start over in a new place with more room and no reminders of the neighbor's doings! Moving is stressful, but it's lovely to feel yourself settling down as you see things coming together around you. I look forward to great news!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Thanks for the update, MaVie. I will be thinking of you this next week while I am moving my Mother into the nursing home. I know you will be so very happy in your new place because it sounds like a dream home to me. Good luck on your move! Hugs, Lani

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Thanks Lani. hope ur Mother's move would also go smoothly. i was planning to at least move some plants this weekend to the new place, but since the schitzo is moving, i have to pick another date. i wanted to get the plants out of the way, and separate from the stuff inside the house to make the move smoothly. i guess better things are yet to come with all these minor interruptions.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I can't wait to see pictures and here all about the new haven!!! I'm so happy for you (don't envy you the actual moving process though!)

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

I know that all will work out fine for you. I wish I lived closer so I could offer the use of my trailers and trucks for your move! It will be so nice for you to have Christmas in your new home.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Mavie, sounds like the move is progressing well, you seem to be very organized, I on the other hand am very haphazard, and then spend days looking for things.
I look forwrad to hearing all about your new place, and seeing some photos.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Wintermoor - I think the neighbor said something about moving to Hamburg. ;)

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Whew!!!!!! That means she won't be moving next door to me. I think that would be worse than the power plant that is trying to do that right now!!!!!!!!!!! Lani

Oh, no, what's THAT about, Lani?

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

A whole nuther thread WR. Thanks for asking though.

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Ma Vie, how is the move coming along? The last I saw was that it was planned for this past weekend?

If things are still on hold, I am praying they will get going soon. I know it must be hard waiting.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Kathy and Everyone,

before anything, i want everyone to know the schitzo was forced out of the premises by the landlord. she moved out last Monday. we were shocked to discover the schitzo was manufacturing amphitamines in the closet and bathroom of the apartment next door.

i am at a point of pulling out all my hair and very stressed! either i am too naive or stupid. these days, no one seems to know the value of honoring the word they give out. the new landlord was supposed to have vacated the premises last Sunday. this morning he called, and promised [again!] to wrap up moving all his stuff out of the house. today was a super windy day [wind gust of 50+ miles per hr] with lots of sandstorms, later in the day it rained so hard. i hope tomorrow no more excuses as i have had it!!! i am furiously angry now, which is not likely of me. all the stuffs are packed and ready to go. too much money going out the door: paying rent on both places at the same time, with nothing being accomplished! all my plans are at a standstill not knowing what will come up the next day. speaking of which, there is a weather prediction of 60% rain tomorrow, maybe snow too. my patience is really being tried. how much of this can i take??? my blood pressure soaring, with lots of pains in the back of my head. could not test my blood pressure as the spagmanometer is buried underneath the stacks of marked boxes. boxes galore filled on top of each other, with hardly a space to move around.

am not really a passive person,i have tried so hard to understand people's predicament, setting my own aside. but i think this is the pits!!!

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Ma Vie, sending you many hugs across the miles. Praying for you, my friend. May all go well with your plans. I so much wish I could be there to help!!!!!!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Hang in there girl. Remember that anything worth having is worth waiting for. I know just what you are going through as we lived out of boxes in a hotel for 2 months after the fire. With the help of prayers from many good people here, we made it through the rough times........and so will you :-)

MVR, it's bee-yoo-tee-ful! You're going to love it there, I just know it (if you can ever get the landlord to let you in, LOL).

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, what a wonderful place! I can just see you working your magic on it. You have the infrastructure already in place, so you can jump right in with the embellishments. Thank you for posting this so we can take the journey with you. Now, don't clean too hard! I wish I was there to help, as I do miss being able to clean DIL's buildings.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

as Y' All could see, i got a big job ahead of me. a job i am sure i will enjoy next year. i could hardly wait to start breaking ground.

the only problem now is... we can not completely move in cause the dsl lines are not yet installed. we need the dsl cause of the ebay business. and business this time of the year is selling like hot cakes. from the looks of it, we will still be spending x-mas in the old apartment. i was talking to the phone person today, they say 5 days more of waiting, but i doubt it since the holidays is before us.

at least, we are slowly moving in some of our belongings. i could hardly wait when this is all and done with. this old body is so tired, but not too tired to do some planting thou :)!!!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Y' Gals must be posting as i am writing. i had a rough day today, i was tearing the kitchen apart cleaning. the most sacred place for me in the house. i had to take the stove apart. the stove parts are soaking in hot water and water softener overnight, to make the task easier. i hope.

sometime soon, when this is over and done with, i hope to be able to go to Texas and take a month's rest... hehehehehehe!!! not Jan., more or less like Feb. or March. by the time i get back from my trip, i should be ready to tackle all the planting ahead of me LOL!!!

Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

ma vie, that house looks like the perfect match for you. BUT i want that barn lol.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Nancy... if i can't have the barn, how can u? the owner uses it for storage space. i too wish i could have the barn, good place to winterize all the brugs :). the back of the barn is what i do not like, it looks like a junk yard for antique cars that are never worked on.

one thing though, i'll have all the space for gardening to fill my heart's desire :D!

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

MaVie, I am so glad things are finally going better for the move :) Somehow things always look brighter to me in January, anyway. The worst of the dark days of winter are over, I can tell there is more daylight everyday (little by little), and I know it must be that way for you too this year. January has got to be a HUGE improvement over last month and this month.

If the antique cars are never worked on, how about (slyly said) turning them into planters? Just a little soil in the wheels, or under the running boards, a few vines ... (grinning silli-ly)

One of my neighbors has a missile site backyard, so I use their chain-link fence as a wonderful trellis for vines and a backdrop for some of my tall things. I have gotten pretty good at hiding unwanted views :)

(((( MaVie )))) hoping the move goes better than you ever hoped.

My DH used to have the shell of a Karmann Ghia -- he was always going to find the guts someday, but never did, so we turned it into a really unusual planter and had it for years, until someone actually bought it. Go figure!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, MVR, how exciting to anticipate a visit from you! I so hope you do get to come, even if it's to San Antonio. I will find a way to get there, and I just know others will. We are actually going to have a little central/south Texas roundup in the middle of the winter, aren't we??? Everyone say yes!

Grandview, TX(Zone 7b)

Amiee,
I want to come too! Just PLEASE make it on a weekend so I won't have to worry about work. I would love to meet MVR and the rest of you IN PERSON! Even if we just went out to lunch or maybe visited a botanical garden somewhere.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

don't worry Kathy & Bonnie, ideas are forming in my head the very minute i saw stuff laying around. it will be a nice live fun project. that is, after i plant on the ground some of my plants in the pot. i got so many plans popping on my head :)!

Aimée & Leisa, soon as i get flight schedules, i will definitely email everyone of the schedule of my visit. for all intent and purposes, i may land up cooking for everyone! and it will be a great pleasure to do that. ohhhhh we're gonna have fun, fun, fun!!!!!

don't worry Leisa, we will not leave u out. am sure everyone would be very accommodating to make the 'meeting' happen. we will need to find a 'mutual' meeting ground, so as not to inconvenience any one. Ladies, need ur thinking caps to activate and see what we can come up.

Meiyu is feeling much better these days. she says she misses everyone awfully bad. unfortunately, she can't type cause of her carphal tunnel sydrome. she expect to be operated on several illnesses sometime Jan. i will keep u all posted on Meiyu's development.

from the top of my head, i know there are several that lives in Texas, Aimée, Brugnanny, Catlady, Eyes, Farmgirl21, Meiyu, Smockette and Toadlily. if i miss anybody pls. advice.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Wingnut is here, too, and she has a marvelous place with plenty of room. She has had a roundup already, and knows how to do it even in a rainstorm. We can caravan to Spicewood after we pick you up in SA, or we can spend a night there and come to Spicewood the next day. Depends on when we want to see the River Walk and go to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. When I know how many and the date, I will contact them and see if we can get a special rate. MVR, you will go as my guest, so there will be no charge for you. Wish I could have more than one free guest! But maybe they will be willing to work out a good plan. As for cooking, yes, indeed! And we need to contact Amari in Austin, she hasn't been posting. I'll try to find her phone number.
