I can check with my brother and see if he has any left. I will e-mail you when I hear back from him. He gave us 5 of the nesting dolls (matrushka *sp* dolls), and several other things from Russia (they lived in Russia for 7 years as missionaries). They are the "real" ones: all hand-painted, not the kind they sell at discount stores here.

Soon as I get down my Christmas decorations from the attic I will check to see if I still have the nesting santa's. I can remember if I got rid of them last year or not. They just didn't fit my Christmas decor and so I never used them. They were given to me in a bunch of craft supplies that I got from my mother's neighbor. IF I still have them would you want them?? I am going to be getting all the decortations down this week some time and so I should know for sure positive then.
Let me know if you are interested K?
I mean I know you said you wanted a certain kind...but if you are going to start collecting....might as well do all kinds. LOL

Dori, I haven't heard back from my brother yet, which means he has to check thru his attic, or maybe he is out of town again. As soon as I hear, I will let you know :)

Some of his matrushkas have 8 nesting pairs, others have 5, and others have 4. Most are about 8" high, but a few are 3" (all these are rough measurements)

Hey, I bought one of those from Viipuri (old Finnish city, invanded by USSR army in the WWII belongs to Russia now) in 1995. We also have older one bought from St. Petersburg I think. They have lots of those for sell in Tallinn too.

NotMartha, I recently got a catalog in the mail that had several nesting doll sets. They have a web site showing the doll sets......www.bitsandpieces.com
Is this of any use to you?
