more work for dave

hey dave
just saw a post of another bug and had an idea. What about a bug database? BDB

Do you mean bugs as in "pests and diseases" or bugs as in software errors?

Bugs as in "pests and diseases". Thanks Troy! I had thought about the same type of forum, but thanks for putting the ball in motion! :~)

ok well yea but i was thinking more like just insects with pics there names(common and latin) life cycles, habitate, range, what they eat, and how to kill them or keep them alive kind of like the PDB but with bugs (insects) you know
looked at both of the links
the one dave posted i was thinking is where the info could come from like the ID forum
and the one go_voles posted i read that one and those ideas were what i had in mind
weeds yes should go in the pdb because they are plants
diseases i think could be another data base like the plant one also
but then i thought where would you put fungus and mold those could be diseases. but then also there could be yet another data base that would cover mushrooms and things like that as they are not really plants. most of the books i have seen on such things are drawings and i feel pictures are much better to id something then drawings. but to produce and publish a book with all that info would be $$$$ that is why the PDB it so good there are thousands of hours of research but by many people if you tried to put together a book like that it would fill a 10 foot shelf +- and cost thousands of dollers because of all the photos and research hours you would have to pay someone for and take years to compile. but with 20,000 + people working on it together as a collective shareing information it gets done quickly and almost effortlessly and all benifit
