Happy Birthday Inda! 40 is good! Had my best years then. Now 50 is another thing. Lots of new aches and pains. But you're right, it's better than the alternative. Glad to be here. Have a great day/weekend!

In August of 1997, the 18 year old daughter of one of my best friends was killed by a drunk driver while sitting at a stoplight.

I think it was at that point that I realized that growing older was a privilege. Yeah, things may start to sag, leak, become wrinkled, hurt, not focus too well, but lots of people don't make it to forty. My friend's daughter didn't even make it to twenty.

Life is good. :-)

I was going to offer some trite little words about 40 being not so bad, but it doesn't seem appropriate after reading the above, Inda. I love what you just said. Your friend's daughter is watching you now, waiting for you to go buy a purple hat, wear it and celebrate life even more! *Solemn, knowing smile* Happy Birthday, girl!
