Well, we're heading to Lisa's this afternoon! There's a few loose ends to tie up before my folks drive us to the airport, and we still have to drop the puppies off at my BIL's house. We're gonna miss our doggies, but I expect Lisa has a few critters who will ease our pet cravings.
I am powering down and unplugging the PC as soon as I post this, but we'll be checking in soon. We *know* Lisa will be on DG (and we're bringing the laptop with us, too).
God bless Dave & Trish for making friendships like this possible! Who'd have thought a seed list would blossom into something like this?

Have a great Trip GW and Howie!!!
Hey did you guys pack the potatoes???
Sorry I just couldn't resist!!!
Have a great trip, GW.
it wasn't an evil ploy---honest!!! It was not my plan to be here at the puter while the Frantic Buckeye's are sitting somewhere between concorse A & B waiting for me,,no sir're Bob it wasn't a evil pay back ploy(nervous laugh)....my little girl is running a fever and I sent my DH to get them...it is not my fault...honest....(heh heh) No matter what Kim says, it WAS NOT A PLOY...
OH LISA! Now what will Calalilly say? Will this bear out her accuzations?? Are you really a "jinks" to your friends? I know ...to make up for this you should let Howie have his Gumbo ala taters!! Jo
Well, folks, our flights were fun and uneventful. We breezed through the airports almost as if we were seasoned travelers. Then we got to New Orleans. As the plane descended, our excitement rose. Lisa and Sally would be waiting at the gate to greet us! There'd be squeals of joy!
But no. We searched the faces, bypassing the people holding signs greeting others. No signs for us. No greeters for us. No. We phoned Lisa and got the scoop. Hmmmmm.
For a sick kid, Sally's awfully happy. And there's all this good food cooking. I think Lisa just didn't want to leave the cooking to Jesse, and that's why she sent him.
More soon...
Oh Boy, sound's like great fun!!!!!!! Have a safe trip and watch out for Lisa's Gator friend's!!!!!!!
sue
Lisa abided by our wishes and didn't tell us what we were eating until we were done eating it.* All I know is, whatever this was, it kept trying to crawl out. I can only guess what breakfast will be like down on the bayou. When I asked her about breakfast, she only mumbled something to the cats; I have no idea what she said.
Lotusblossom: Sorry we didn't e-mail you and let you know we got here. But...If you realized I'd not e-mailed you, you also must have read the threads at DG and realized we were here, safe and sound. Actually, I was just going to write you when Lisa said dinner was ready. We hadn't eaten anything but Northwest Airlines' mini-snack of pretzels for seven hours, and we were HONGRY!
Shoe: They did have those cute little bottles available on our connecting flight from Memphis to New Orleans! We didn't have any, though. The fellow across the aisle from us bought some and was quite talkative with his seatmate by the time we landed in less than an hour. ;)
* It was some wicked-good seafood gumbo with oyster juice, crawdads, softshell crab and shrimp. Howie and I are not big seafood fans, but this was incredible! I even tried softshell crab - and I liked it!
I am glad you two made it safe and sound. I see you have already sampled some of Lisa's delicious gumbo - she's a fantastic cook isn't she? I wouldn't be surprised if you two become big seafood fans before you leave! Have a great time and keep us updated whenever you can.
Has anybody heard from them this morning??? I think Lisa fed them all that seafood so the gators would like the taste better!!!
Hmmmmm, stayed behind while Shortcut went to get them???? Wonder what trap she was a layin for them now???
Kimberley................check in, we miss you, lololol
ps, glad y'all are havin fun.
Kimberley is still jonked out..heh heh heh....
Oh I missed telling you to have a safe trip. Looks like you got there safe and sound . Have a wonderful time.
Yep, safe and sound we are. Howie got up around 7am, and I got up around 9am...Early for both of us!! I might not be on here *quite* as much as usual, especially since I've found this nifty spot for reading: a hammock chair out on the porch. If it weren't so chilly, I'd be out there right now (it is chilly, even by Ohio standards, LOL!)
Kimberley.......wipe your face!!!!! Just kidding. I was not monitoring DG so there was nothing to tell that you were there. I was only on Eudira and corresponding with Whiterose. Sorry if you are put out with me. I was so tired I just wanted to shower and cuddle up under the throw with the spotted demons and read a good book. Glad you are safe and having a good time. Love you!!!!!
Oooh sounds like such a good time. Keep us informed.
Chilly? in Louisiana? How can that be? Have fun you guys.
A very "cheery" good morning to all! well you guys,I HATE IT HERE! Lisa is a horrible hostess, she has us scrubbing the floors, her food stinks and she keeps telling Howie & I that she will feed us to the gators. Howie and I are thinking about taking an early flight home. We just can't stay here one day longer. Lisa is impossible. She acts like she is really nice but when you get to know her..ugh. I can't wait till we leave. She wakes up early, wakes us up..expects us to go to work right away. She will not give us the name to a cab company so we can get away....HELP!
Does this mean that Lisa is over the bug??? I certainly hope so!! Have a great time - just know you will.
Kimberley, I did warn you!! If she takes you down to the bayou and has you walk out on that little dock, be sure she's in front of you and not behind. Remember the Grisk Mill??? Sounds like you are having a great time!!
She brought me breakfast in bed today! It was hot coffee and warm beignets...Soooo good. I've seen beignets before, but never eaten them. They're addicting!
Howie and Lisa are out getting fresh oysters - 100lb sack for $25. I know what we'll be doing this afternoon. This trip is a lot of "firsts" for Howie and me: First beignets, first softshell crab and crawdads, first time shucking oysters.
Help!!! I just went down to the docks with Lisa. She made me be her lookout while she bought illegal crabs. She is going to get us put in jail. This vacation is the worst. She said if I tell anyone she will feed me to the gators with a side of taters.
This is an example of what happens when someone forgets to log out of DG when she is done. I didn't even SEE the post Lisa did under my name because "skip to next" skipped it! And here I went on and on about how sweet she is. *Sigh*
And, by the way, this particular post is also what happens when Howie forgets to log out. This is Kimberley. But it's true that the Crab Police are after Lisa. She bought them right off the crabber's boat, a no-no. She had to sneak them in the van.
Breakfast in bed!!! You mean they let you sleep in the house!!!? And beignets? (I thought that was one of those Europee-ing toilets that shoot water up ya.) (They sure are fancy down there in the bayou.)
And now, to top it off, ya'll buying a 100 pound sack of errsters!? NOOOOOOOO>>>>> That DOES IT! I'm heading to the fish market tomorry for a case! (waaaaahhhh...only 50 to a case) (sniff, whimper, cryoutloud!)
As for them illegal crabs...you mean you ain't allowed to buy them right off the boat? For shame for shame! That Lisa, a wonder woman after me own heart!
Howie! Drink beer. Trust me!
OH My.. Lisa!!! Dont get urself into trouble! lol..
Howie, I thought you knew what happened to people who forgot to log out, lol.
ok folks, this is the real Lisa..I have to clear the air--I walked into this roadside store, asked the lady if she knew who sells crabs, she told me yes and gave me 2 names of folks. I asked her if she would be so kind as to call one of the people for me because I lost my voice and can't talk..this is true ... honest! The lady called this crab fisherman and the deal was done, I committed to buying 2 dozen crabs after much hesitation, because I thought the man was charging me to much. As I turned to walk out the store the lady said "OH, by the way...when the fisherman comes by...ya'll load the crabs in back the store"...hmmmm, I thought...this is not right....anyway after Howie and I sat on the dock, talking about what we would do if we get busted (howie said he would bail out on me, saying he doesn't know me..etc..etc..)I suppose I could go on and on about the story, but to make it short, Boudreaux came with the goods, and we left in much haste and still not quite understanding what we did wrong. When I questioned the lady in the store about what I was doing wrong she mumbled something about me filling out paperwork for buying crabs, go figure, I'm 40 years old and have been buying crabs for years and never had to fill out paper work....we boiled 'em (the crabs, not howie & kim) they were good. THE END
Dinner was wonderful but these people are crazy. Shoe I think I do need to pick up a few sodas. Not only did we buy illegal crabs but then Jesse made me buy illegal turkeys. He had a coupon that was only good for a 10 to 12 lb bird and he made me go through the line with a 18 lb bird. He told me to stand tall and intimidate the cashier into letting him get the 18 lb for the price of the 12 lb. He told me he would feed me to the gators if I did not. So I did and that little old lady almost got the best of me. But I am getting wise to these people. I have not seen any gators down here. I have been looking all over. I don't think they have any. I think they have been lying to me.

Oh our poor, dear Howie! So guilible. So easily led astray! *snif* Jo
Howie and Kimberley.. I am sure they hid the gators for yall before yall leave! :)
They've CORRUPTED our sweet Kimberley and Howie!! Daves will never be the same. Lisa, I'm so surprised, NOT!!! lol, this is so funny. I agree Mini, they're hiding the gators, keeping them real hungry for just the right time!!!
Sounds like ya'll are having a great time!!! Wish I were there too!
Kim & Howie...you can make friends with lisa's pet fideaux..I did, grin, even let me take his pic heh heh.
