Copying photos from DG

High Springs, FL(Zone 8b)

Recently (through my own negligence) I managed to lose several dozen digital photos I had stored on an online site. In an effort to restore my photo files, I'd like to download copies of the photos I've submitted to Dave's Garden onto my hard drive. Is there a way to get around the protections placed on copying photos from this website? At least for the ones copyrighted in my name?

(Please forgive me if this matter has been previously addressed!)

Hi Amaryllisgal,

Unfortunately (in this circumstance) the copyright protecting text is irreversible, and I do not keep a clean copy on my server. As soon as the copyright is applied, the old (clean) image is discarded.

Dave, thanks for the quick reply! (Even if it's not what I wanted to hear - LOL!)

A copy with the text would be fine with me, but when I do a "Save picture as" and put it in a file, I can't get it to open. Is this what you intended when you set this up?

No, actually that's not what I intended. It should copy down just fine (I don't prevent copying, but I do require referers (technical term) to view pictures.)

If you can see the picture, you should be able to copy it.

Well, rather than "save as" can you just drag the picture from your web browser, directly into the folder you have setup? Does that work?

I've just tried the drag technique and I think it's gonna work! Thanks a million - you're a lifesaver!
