Our big news is that Howie and I are flying to Louisiana tomorrow, and we'll stay with Lisa and family until our return home December 2. It's our first Thanksgiving outside of Ohio, and the first long vacation we've ever had. The furbabies are staying with my BIL and are sure to be spoiled rotten in our absence (I'm already missing them, though, even as I see them sitting in the big wing chair next to me!).

Looks like we'll be raking, blowing and mowing all the leaves after we get back, for it's been too rainy to get them done before we left. Can't wait for warmer temps down south! :)

oh GW, what fun....you'll be gone for quite a while, you must have some real fun things lined up to do with Lisa.
Have a marvelous time....

Mostly, we're going to relax and visit. We're not that into tourist stuff, so aside from seeing the big aquarium and maybe taking a cemetery tour, we'll mainly enjoy good music, see the natural beauty there (free!) and hang out with the family. We can't wait! :D

Howdy Nana...
Don't worry, I'll be "brief"~! As for that walking stick, it's nearby tho in case I get the hankering to use it!!

DD and DW are going to Minnesota for the week of Thanksgiving...I'll be a bachelor for a while then! Will probably do the same ol' same ol', but augment it with my own good cooking, loud music 24/7, maybe do some writing and recording, and maybe some catfishin' on the river!

Well Nana, While you were away I sure missed seeing your post and all the sweetness that just pours outta you :)
But other than that I have been trying to finish collecting the last of the seeds for this year and trying to put my gardens to bed for the winter. Ole Jack Frost has really moved in here and seems to be set for awhile. Therefore that has pushed me to stay in the house and try to find projects in here to keep me busy. I have decided paint the kids bedroom and give it a fresh coat for the winter.
Also I have been trying to get a gourd ID for awhile and so finally it dried out enough to where I could do something with it

Other than that I have just been buzzing right along waiting for warmer temps!

I have been so busy taking care of the stray cats and kittens and working on my gourd projects that this is the first chance I've had to read some of the posts here...way behind and trying to catch up.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Nana, my life has been a whirlwind of activity for the past 7 months. So much has happened that it would take a book to catch you up. LOL!

But, to make a long story short..

It appears that both DH and I have won some hard fought elections, (tomorrow's the last day they can contest the election so we're keeping our fingers crossed).

We are moved into the house we built this summer. It's not anywhere close to done, but we are working long and hard at it. Hopefully someday soon we'll get it done, and the bank is hoping the same thing. LOL! Take a look at my journal if you have a minute. It's not been updated in awhile, but the things we are doing now, (sanding, staining, varnishing), is so time consuming and not journal worthy.

We are still trying to raise teenagers, plus those that are beyond teen years but still act like they are teens. (I'm going to have our water checked to see if there's something in there that keeps teenagers from maturing into responsible adults. :) In the meantime, I think I'll buy stock in Clairol hair dye.

I'm sure there's much more that I need to catch you up on, but that's enough for now. I'm just SOOOOO glad to have you back with us.

Hugs,
Joan

Nana! I've missed seeing you around the garden, girl! So glad you're back! :)

Kenny and I have had an eventful summer ~ stepDad in the hospital and back home now, Kenny in the hospital and back home now, girlfriend pregnant and almost back home now (happy, healthy bouncing baby girl, 10 lbs., 11 oz. born yesterday!). And other good news ~ our Longhorn herd is increasing almost every day! :) Check out the Farm Life forum for posts by me about new calves ~ the latest heifer is quite a looker! We lost a cow, but the beautiful calves are worth it all. :)!!!

I'm headed to the shower soon so we can make it into town to see that new baby girl! Happy-happy, Joy-joy!!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Wingnut, she must be almost ready to start walking. What a champion size! I can never resist a baby, especially girls, so I'm just a tad jealous of you. Nuzzle under her chin for me.

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Will do, Aimee! They did a cesarean section because of the baby's size and other complications. All went well and Debby came through with flying colors, so it must have been the right choice. I'll be going to their house once a week atleast to help her clean up and her MIL lives just next door, so can help her during the week.

Now, if I can just get off this durned 'puter and into the shower, we'll get to go! LOL!
