Can't seem to access plant database!

For some reason I absolutely cannot access the 'add a new plant' section of the plant database. I must be doing something wrong since others aren't having trouble. Dave's Garden home recognizes me okay, but the plant database evidently does not. When I click on 'add a new plant to the database' the page refreshes but nothing changes. When I try to login it gives me an error saying I am having browser problems and that it's a cookie issue. I tried the suggestions for XP, but still can't access. I haven't had this trouble before, so I'm stuck. My cookie handling is on Medium (the default setting).

Any advice would be appreciated.

It sounds like you're not logged in. Here's how to find out: Scroll down the Plants Database main page until you see the "About You" section. If the last option says "log in" that's what the problem is. (If it says "log out", you're already logged in, and it'll take a better brain than mine to tell you what to try next :)

Go_vols thanks for taking the time to try and help me out! It does say logout on the main plant database page. When I click on 'Add a new plant to the list' at the bottom of that page, it takes me to another database page with the link 'add a plant to the database.' When I click on that is when I can't seem to get anywhere. The page just refreshes, and doesn't give me the form to add a plant.

Well, I think I've figured it out, and it's all because of spam and the fear of hackers with a DSL account. I recently installed Zone Alarm Pro on my computer, and I think that has been playing havoc with some of the sites I visit, including Dave's. I thought I had it properly configured, but evidently that was not the case. As soon as I shut Zone Alarm down, I had access to the plant database 'add a new plant.'

I wish spam would go away so I didn't need to worry about such software! Guess I need to do some help file reading!

That is strange, and has now escalated to a question for Dave. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

What SHOULD happen is that you click on "Add a new plant" and you are taken to a form that includes a field for Common Name, Cultivar, Family, Genus and Species.

If that isn't happening for anyone else, please post here.
