next i will put something over it to keep it dry above ground so it does not rot from to much moisture. but in case this does not work i took off a pup a few weeks ago and it is in the GH

Good idea to protect bananas in north! I have full of bananas trees and I just left them alone. THey wilt and turn brown but they will grow back when the warm temp's back.

well the main plant died off but there is a baby coming up form the roots yeaaaaaa!!!
the leaves that i put in got wet and i think that is the reason the parent did not make it next year i will make sure the leaves i put in are dry and i cover it with plastic as soon as i do it

Fantastic Troy,how are they doing?I used a wire cage,with leaves.I had the same thing happen,main trunk died,and pup coming up to side,it is 4ft tall.

Pump the water to it Troy,this is a pup that came up next to the dead stalk,I used wire hoop with leaves to overwinter.
