I like a coral color. That seems to blend well with whatever I'm wearing. Or, should I say...wore when I had fingernails to show off. LOL! My fingernails nowdays are all stained and broken from working on the house. Hopefully soon I can grow them back out again.

This afternoon, I tried coral it doesn't look good on me =( true Coral is pretty color.

I can't ever seem to keep it on for long before it chips. Guess my color is au naturale!

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

I like au naturale too.

I like just about all colors, but not yellow or black. Toffee and basic pink are my favorites.

I like the lighter shades when I do wear them. The dark shades make my fingers look stubby, I think.

I like the dark shades on long fingernails, but they do shorten the appearance of fingers. Haven't worn polish in years -- my nails break too often to bother, LOL.

What are fingernails?

Thanks Aimee!!!!

I agree with Aimee - haven't seen mine for years

Now TOE nails.........usually Moss (green with a gold sheen)
very occasionally.......Club Kitten (subtle pink, but filled with multicoloured sparkly bits)
LOLOL

You think i'm kidding don't you?

My DD, the family priss, has her nails done, squared off and all. She has some really dark stuff put on at times, but does her toenails in gold. Now, I would like that! But I could never get a really smooth, solid coating of polish like the pros do, and it wouldn't look as good as the bought job. Ah, well, I shall leave those glamour touches to the younguns, it's their turn.

I remeber the days that I changed my nailpolish to go with my outfit. Of course those days are long gone....who has time???
These days, I wear a shade that is very close to my skin color, a light sand, pale taupe, and a light ivory type. and the reason is that all I have to do is slap on another coat once a week and be done with it....I did wear a cherry red last week, but it wears off at the tips and looks unsightly, the natural shade doesnt make it quite as obvious. In the summer I like a pearly white....the hardest part in the summer is getting all the soil out from underneath them, and the soil that is stuck on your cuticle and the sides of your nail...I tried soaking my hands in effervescent tablets (people use them for their false teeth) I had heard that it worked, but egads, who has time to sit still that long???

Silver Lake, OH(Zone 5b)

I have acrylic put over my nails so that they don't break, otherwise they are very fragile and useless. The acrylics are STRONG!

I like a pearly red or rose... but change often. I also like one called "Hey Vito, is my Car Reddy?" and "I'm Not Really A Waitress."

OPI makes beautiful colors with strange names.

I keep my fingernails cut off. I'm in the dirt so much and I think it looks nasty to have dirt under your fingernails. I have very ugly hands anyway and nail polish would make people notice them. I do enjoy seeing nail polish on people though and maybe in my next life I will be girly and prissy enough to have pretty nails - fat chance!

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

I also like one called "Hey Vito, is my Car Reddy?" and "I'm Not Really A Waitress." ROTF, Janiejoy! WHERE do you get those colors?! OPI? Can you translate? I want "Hey Vito"! LOLOL!

I've always thought that long fingernails were the height of femininity, but I could never grow them longer than 1/8". So I grew my hair instead. It's almost past my butt! I have done the acrylic thing a few times and love them! I would love it if I would be able to wear the bright red colors and actually look good in them. I still wear the red anyway when I do go so far as to put the acrylics back on and am feeling "wild!" But if I have to go out in public, it's creme, white, pink or the like ~ usually with sparkles. But I haven't done that in years ~ my real fingernails just don't lend themselves well to nailpolish. :(

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I just took a long hard look at my fingernails and decided they are 'golden oak'! But, they match the windows, doors and trim.

always got to trim them they keep getting to long
oh yea Black

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Fire Red, when I wear it!

Jerrie, I KNEW you were a woman after my own heart. ;)

Oh, you lucky ones who can use acrylic. Can you believe I am highly allergic to it??? Even the fabric for clothes. I have tried the nails several times, and was among the first to use glued on fakes in the late 60s. I worked for an outfit that set up territories for rack job service, and one of the clients was Westmore Cosmetics. Think Bud Westmore, make up man for the stars. Through them, I had full access to any kind of cosmetic in the world, price no object. Sob, I was not able to make good use of such a prized contact, because I reacted to everything. Even after things were improved, I continued to have problems with such products, so it is with a striking shade of green in my blue eyes that I read your comments about your darn nails!
