No news yet Peggy. The polls close in about 9 minutes, and it will be about an hour before the first precincts start coming in. I am so scared. I'll be around on and off tonight though and will let you all know.

Thank you all for sitting with me tonight. Polls have been closed for 41 minutes, and still no word. DH fixed me a drink and told me to stop pacing the floor and hyperventilating. :) I seem to be much more worried than he is. He's trying to watch TV, and I keep talking out loud and walking back and forth in front of the TV.

Man, I think I'd be a basket case after working so hard, for so long, and then the waiting...hope you hear soon, Joan!

Joan, calm down sweetie. If you need to do something rough, how about sanding something in you new home. lol

Joan did you go to chat tonight?? I fell asleep on the couch and just woke up a few minutes ago. The suspense is getting to me now, so can well imagine what it's doing to you. Hanging in there with you!!

No word yet. I'm almost a wreck. I did go to chat, but had to leave because I can't seem to sit still for more than a few minutes.

It's understandable that you can't sit still. How's that pitcher of margaritas holding up?

I didn't make the margaritas, but after pacing back and forth in front of the TV, DH fixed me a stiff drink and told me to chill out. LOL! It didn't help though.

They always say that no news is good news, but I'm thinking that if my deputy, who I left at the courthouse to help in my place can't call me and let me know, it might not be good news.

My mind is doing funny things tonight.

Yes, when you're nervous even a stiff drink is just like lemonade -- doesn't have the desired effect, LOL. Surely you will get some news soon. I'm hearing that election results all over the country are very late coming in.

I'm just going to post a recipe on the forum and hope that when I return here we will be celebrating. I might even get myself a little nip too!! :-)

DH called the courthouse, and there's a problem with the voting machine. Ugg!! So, there's still two precincts to count, but at this point, DH and I are both ahead. She didn't tell him by how much, so I'm not feeling a comfort zone, but it's a slight encouragement. Unfortunately, the two precincts still out are the two biggest ones. One of which I was already prepared to lose.

I'll keep posting as I know anything.

Joan that has to be such encouraging news but I know where you're coming from. What a shame about the hold-up. Have you any idea how long it might take before the results come in? One hour maybe, or two!!

House? What house? LOL! We haven't done a lot with it in the past few weeks because we have been concentrating on the campaign. We have been working late nights sanding, staining and varnishing the woodwork though.

I won't post again until there's some news. I'm afraid I'm making you all chase me around in hopeful anticipation.

The champagne looks good in the ice bucket. I just hope we get to drink it rather than throw it against the garage wall. LOL

Good grief Joan - you've still been working on it!! I wouldn't call sanding, polishing, staining woodwork nothing, but would call it hard work!! Don't you dare throw the champers anywhere - I've got my glass ready!! In the meantime, I think I will go and make a cup of tea because even though I napped tonight, I can feel the old eyelids drooping!! lol!! Back in a jiffy!!

Still up with ya, too, Joan! We'll be toasting with cookies and milk tonight, though.
