lupinelover- I remember fresh buttermilk from when I was a kid-Long, long ago, In a place far, far away (from StarWars) Anyway I loved it-the first time I had the cultured stuff from the store, I thought that it was spoiled. I have a recipe for candied orange peel from cooking class (somewhere) and it was easy to make. I also have a wonderful recipe for a fruitcake that is a light colored one- tastes like a pound cake with fruit. I can put it on the recipe forum if anyone is interested (takes me awhile to type and check, don't want to have wrong ingredients.....

for the past couple of days, I have been craving fruitcake, no doubt reading all the recipes and talking about it. Louisa has a fab recipe posted on the recipe forum that I will try out this weekend.

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

I do believe I got a whole lot of people suddenly hungry for fruitcake! Me included. But mine is very dry until after it marinates for a few weeks. I got to eat the crumbs after removing it from the pan :~* Very dry, so I only ate a few and threw the rest away.

Going over to check out all the new fruitcake recipes now...
