There is no way anyone who loves Elvis songs can pick just "one" favorite! I do tend to favor Unchained Melody but when most any one comes on, I have to sigh and think...no one can sing like Elvis could!

Spring Hill, FL(Zone 9a)

You're right,of course. But almost everyone has A favorite or two. So let's go for the short list!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I get chills when I hear him sing the "Hawaiian Wedding Song". Blue Hawaii is my favorite movie of his too.

How Great Thou Art....and "Are you lonesome tonight?"....sung in my good ear with the lights turned low. LOL Jo

Kentucky Rain is mine.
DH Keith's is Can't Help Falling in Love and In the Ghetto.

Edited to include Keith's choices as he's a die hard Elvis fan.

Please don't throw thing's at me for saying this but I have never been a big Elvis fan but I have to tell you a funny story! There was a lady that I use to work with her name is Rose. Now Rose and I got along great until the first christmas that we worked together cause she brought in an Elvis Christmas CD. Well I tried to be real polite but by the time the thing was over I was about ready to scream!!! So being the good friend that I am the next day I brought in my Alvin and the Chipmunk's CD and played it over and over again until Rose finally promised to take Elvis home with her if I did the same with the Chipmunk's!!!!! Well we are still friend's to this day and Elvis and Alvin have never entered our office again!!!!!!!

I'm with notmartha, "In the Ghetto", such a bold song when it came out in the 1960's. Beautiful.

REDROSE, I think ruby42 was confused with Elvis Costello.

Sorry guys, not an Elvis fan, but did like some of his songs, especially the ones I could jive too. "All shook Up" comes to mind, when I used to practice with my dad's tie - tied to the doorknob!! lol!!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Heheh...I can just see you jive-dancing w/your dad's tie on the door knob Louisa! Whhhoooooo-----eeeeeee!

I don't know if I have a favorite...maybe "Are you Lonesome tonite?"...course now, as soon as I hear another one of his "crooners" that would be my favorite too!

Actually, I just sent my Mom a 3CD set of Elvis singing all his Gospel songs! They're going on a trip to Branson next month and were looking for some music to listen to for the drive (from Florida to Branson).

Camilla, GA(Zone 8a)

Are You Lonesome tonight and Love Me Tender

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

THATS the one I was thinking of, Larkie! I could could sing that one to the Pope, and bet he'd cry! One of my utmost faves!

Silver Lake, OH(Zone 5b)

Blue Christmas... because of the backup singers' part!!!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Yep! Now Blue Christmas is a good one too.
Course now, one of the most SINCERE versions of that song is done by Porky Pig...I just gotta hear it every year!http://www.mp3s4free.net/xmas.shtml
(Scroll down to "PorkyPig-Blue Christmas") :>)

Spring Hill, FL(Zone 9a)

Uh-uh-uh b-b-but P-P-P-Porky t-t-takes s-so long t-t-to g-get around t-t-to it!
S-S-Shoe!!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Hmmmm...he does? Mine downloaded in seconds. Did you Right-click? then save? it's much faster that way!
Some day, when I grow up...I'm gonna learn how to sing just like Porky! And will come to your house and seranade your fambly, kikisdad!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

don't shoot me, I'm not certain of the name. It's a christmas song and starts "well, it's Christmas time pretty baby and the snow is falling on the ground..." real bluesy and a lot of piano.

I can listen to that one the entire month of December. Just did:)!!! lol
