Gosh, look at you all! :) Boy, if I'd gone to that first house there, I'd consider trick or treating over. How could anyone compete with THAT?!

Alfred, ON(Zone 4b)

gw, it was nice. I'm not much for trick or treating, but the kids love it.

they had each half a pillowcas full after 1 and a half hr.

we had a few flurries but it was cooooooooold brrrrrrr...

DD did not like the after part *LOL* scrubbing her face real clean *LOL*

One thing I loved, was in the better part of the town where the nice houses are the cops closed down the road. NO cars!!
Thats great, the kids can cross all over without us worry!

we talked to the cop and I told him that they should close all the roads in town except main street for 2hr every halloween.
He said that we should bring that up with the town, he also said that that would be a good idea and he was all for it :)

lets see if we can do something for next year.

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Our town closes its downtown area (including the streets) for several hours on Beggars' Night. There is a big street party for everyone; the merchants love it because huge numbers of people show up. This year's theme was "The Wizard of Oz". There are festivals throughout the year: the downtown streets close, many residents pour in, and we all have a great time. Next one up is early December for a Christmas party.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

That's what they did here in Newark -- for two hours they had the whole square downtown closed off for the kids.

Ah, the small town life is best, ain't it?
