At Midnight, my DH had to wake me up and warned me to get my kids and got cover. It was so bad storm hit. It poured about 5 inches of rain.. Lots of lighting that keep going on for about 3 hours. I mean dangerous lighting that keep going on , never stop. I stayed up all night... A tornado was warned which it already hit in about two miles from here.. No power for 6 hours. Now it's flooding everywhere.. the water went into few houses down the road from us.. Lucky our land is high.. I was so scared and NO damaged around here.. Glad we all are okay..
A Very Bad Storm!
MiniSchnuz: I'm so sorry to hear that you had a bad night! Now I feel guilty about complaining myself about the weather in Seward, Alaska! We, too, have been having flooding around here, and several of our neighbors across the tracks had to evacuate, but our place has only had basement flooding. Fortunately, we haven't had the violent storms like you've had. We had a bit of high winds last night the knocked out the power, but it was back on in a couple of hours.
I was raised in Indiana, and tornados were not uncommon. That was about 40 years ago, but I can recall the TV announcements... first "Tornado Watch", then "Tornado Warning". Once it became a warning, we headed for the basement. We once lost several trees on our property, but it missed the house.
I'm glad to hear you are OK... sounds like you had a long night. I'd only do what you have to do today, then take a well-deserved nap.
oH yes I need a good nap today.. Today is the 11th day that have been raining straight...
Man, bless your heart, Mini! I'm sure glad you and your family are all okay! Don't you live close to Redrose? Do you know if she's okay, too?
OH yes, I am so glad we all are okay.. Redrose lives about 1 1/2 hours away from here.. I am sure she is doing okay..
Yes we are all okay just pour down rain all night along last night also lighting no noise everything are fine here too much wet and soggy. Still have more rain all 2 weeks from now sick of it.
Mini, I am glad to hear all of you doing ok. Did you take a nap yet?
NO I didn't take a nap as I should. Had to go do the errange. Believe or not.. AFTer we heard and felt the loud thunder lighting then booom... Today in the late afternoon.. my neighbor wanted me to go over and I did.. Oh my gosh.. Their Pine tree was hit and blow up everywhere. That was the one that light hit and boom. It missed their house and shop by few feet.. whew.. The tree was splinted in two and blow the top and middle all over.. She was home alone when it happened. Her DH was working tug boat.. Today was the first time the SUN came out! BLue SKY and no cloud.. but it was so humid.. In few days.. It will get cooler and it will go down to 44's at nights in few days..
Mini, I'm glad to hear your family is ok and that your neighbor lost only a tree. I was reading the posts and listening to Nancy Harmon's guest vocalist singing about GOD's protection, mercy, and love. You got a sample of that last night. I do pray you will be able to get some rest time today.
As for rain, we go a lot of drizzling and just a few short good showers yesterday and last night. We really need rain here in central Missouri. Not 5" in a day tho.
GOD bless and keep each and all of yoy.
fINALLLLLLY! SUN IS HERE! bLUE SKY! IT IS BREEZE AND FEEL DRY! JUMPING AND DOWN.....
Yeah same as here beautiful day so happy.
