The poor persecuted spider came out of older sister Anna's wellington boot. She's the one who usually runs screaming - so this is REALLY brave!
(I'm not sure she'll ever wear that boot again though LOL)

Anna wore her boot this afternoon too! I was very impressed
.........still, this isn't anywhere near as big as a tarantula notmartha!!

Oooh, I don't think I'd be that brave, not by a long shot. Kudos to the girls!!

High Springs, FL(Zone 8b)

How about a few more creepy-crawlies...http://davesgarden.com/t/365701/

You'll notice none of them were photographed anywhere on my person!

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

After reading that headline, how could I resist peeking!! Yuck, spiders on a little girl! Eeewwww! But what a little sweetie. You are right to teach them not to fear things, but I couldn't do it!!!

How do they feel about dormouses (dormice? doorsmouses?) *grin*

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Glad the title got a few of you going *louisa, zameluzza, lupine* ;-)

They love dormice and have hamsters of their own. They even loved the bats they were introduced to, but then that's not a surprise to me, as bats are very loveable LOL

I cannot imagine holding that spider...I don't like spiders,no matter what their size...However,my grandkids have a video called,"I'm only scarey cause I'm hairy" and I absolutely love it.Every time they watch it I watch with them. It's several different stories but all involving the spider.

Mine just love a cartoon video called "Spider in the bath". That's lots of separate short stories too. I've spent many an hour watching that with them - they're such a good excuse to watch and read all sorts of things. Harry Potter (not Hairy Potter note) is another example.........

philomel, sounds like you have the same video because the first story in this one is "Spider in the bath". Actually,I'm looking at the box right now and I didn't have the exact title before...It's "SPIDER! I'm only Scary 'cos I'm Hairy". We especially like,Little Miss M, the little girl sitting on the stump eating her sweets. Do I sound like a KID? LOL

Ah, ginlyn, that's great. You're quite right. Fabulous aren't they?
