Yellow Seedling

those metal wires/plate are expensive. if i buy the raw material to make a plate, i do not have the necessary tool/s to make them out with. i used vinyl miniblinds to attached the labels on, if not on the plastic pot itself, which is affordable for me.

next time i go to HD, i will look around and check what i can find to make metal plate with. am sure the waterproof tape will adhere to metal with no problem... or would it????

MaVie, it seemed to hold up good at the daylily display garden.

Cala the question is... is the display constantly being watered?

Ma Vie - I've use it on both metal markers & mini blinds and have never had problems with them sticking. In fact... I can't remove the label once it's stuck and I have to print another tape to put over it. I've had some of the labels out in my garden for close to 2 years now. I checked to see the model of mine - it's a DYMO Label Manager 100. I bought it at Wal-mart for about 30 or 35 bucks. The tape cartridges go for 8 or 10.

i do not know what model i have, it just says 'Dymo Letra Tag', it is handheld. here is the url ... http://www.dymo.com/media/templates/categories/generic_category.jhtml?id=en_US_Handheld&navCount=-1&_DARGS=%2Fcommon%2Fleftnav.jhtml.3_A&_DAV=en_US_Handheld , i do not know where mine was bought from, or how much. it was a gift!

i do not know how much the refill silver metallic labels or pearl white paper refill would be. i seldom use it, i like the paint marker better :).

the label's i've made are exposed to sun and constantly get watered on... totally exposed to all the elements.

I use the aluminum tags available from Mellinger's and other places. These are 13.00 per hundred plus shipping.
These are only used on my best plants.A bit pricey but they never fade or rust. The other plants get the mini-blind and sharpie treatment.

MaVie - that reminds me of a Jerry Seinfield episode. Elaine got a label maker for a gift - she hated it so ahe wrapped it back up and gave it to someone else. There's an idea!
