Daybreak. I love the form of Daybreak, nice straight tall tree. Please ignore the holes in the leaves, I had a caterpillar problem earlier. These are all loaded with buds, but waaaaah, it's supposed to frost Thursday night.

they are both prety, gonna keep them both? did you say frost????

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I'm going to bring in a piece of each. Yeah frost, I know that's a dirty word and I hope they are wrong. I'm almost thru hauling stuff into the Jungle House(ran out of room, stole half the fern house) and will try to pull remay over these at the house till Dee can get them.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

cala what is remay?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It's sold here for tobacco seed bed cover. We use it at the nursery for frost protection, mostly in the sping.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Very pretty!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I just bought one of these. Any good?

you had an s in there......
looks like a good price.

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Another beauty.Does this one change to orange or does it keep the yellow color as it matures?

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Too Funny, but white is good, just tell them it is very very light yellow. David is going to look for another color in the Brazilian Cloak.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, that looks like it. Ours is 9ftX100ft, costs less than $20, but we get it at the Farmer's Co-op. They are mostly one year use, maybe 2 years if you take care of it.
G2S, they stay yellow, no orange at all.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Cala...very pretty yellows..do all 3 grow well and bloom well?

(Zone 6a)

they are both very pretty yellows. now my usual question: fragrant?

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Very pretty yellows.

Very nice Cala, who are the parents?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Very pretty Susie. How many brugs do you grow to bloom size each year? You must be kept busy just watering.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Brugcrazy, these I thought were Dr Seuss X suaveolens, but the tag is so faded, I was mostly guessing. The first flush of blooms one each was white, the second and third were yellow. I can't remember if they were fragrant. I've got so many blooming right now, I just didn't notice. I'll go out in the morning and see.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Taking about tags fading.............I used permanent markers...........Sharpie and they are all faded..........Some I can't even read!!! Anyone have a better idea????

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, that's what I used, a sharpie. I've taken to buying the "liquid sharpie" they seem to last longer. I've tried the paint pens, they don't fade, but if things rub against them, the paint comes right off. We have since bought a thermal transfer printer for the greenhouse. It is connected to my computer, uses tags of all kinds and is fade resistant. I can print one or 1000.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh good Cala, I will send you my list.........LOL

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

pencil kell. I use cut up miniblinds with pencil and none have faded or rubbed off yet. Wish I'd used it last year.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I have been using pencil for my dirt tag, but it does smudge! but it may be the best alternative unless Cala decides to go into the label business also!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Hmmm, now that could be a profitable business. It will print stick tags or hangie tags.(it even will put a bar code if you want, lol)

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Kell... try DecoColor opaque paint marker, available at Michael's craft store. http://www.michaels.com i use ultra fine. 1 pen is $3.49. it never fade or smudge. i even tried to soak in straight bleach to test. it stays. i have some labels exposed to the sun for nearly a year. they are as good as the 1st day the labels were place on the pot.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

that's the one I tried. it must be the difference in your dry climate and our humidity

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well I will give it a try!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

That's the one I had too. TiG you may have hit on something, the humidity. These just peeled and chipped till there is nothing left. The thermal transfer uses a film that is melted onto the tag. You can scratch it with your fingernail or a razor, but normal wear and tear won't take it off. It wont fade, even in the humidity. The machine is only $3500 so everyone should get one, right?

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

The peel off china markers work good too without fading.
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cspoutdoors/dixphanchinm.html I use regular pencil most of the time. The paint pens dried up too quick on me if I hadn't use them for a while.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

has anyone tried those label makers you can get at walmart, that make the raised letters? can't think of the name of it, but you hold it like a gun?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Dyno, yes, they work for a while, the color will eventually fade, but the raised letters stay there.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I haven't tried that one but I have a Dynamo(sp?) label maker that prints out the labels on a tape. It was about $30. It works good and the labels have held up great. I use it for my daylilies. The tape is more expensive than it should be - but it's worth it for a good quality permanent labels.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

i have one, it is called Dymo Tag electronic label maker. comes with 2 types of tape; 1 paper for indoor use, the other one is supposed to be waterproof, for outdoor use. the problem with the waterproof label is it does not stick too well on any surface it is attached to. plus the labels are far more expensive. i tried it one time, never again!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

MaVie, I think that's the one I was talking about. Lauren has one. Doesn't it also come in a manual type that you can use the plastic tape stuff in and it makes raised letters? She has something that does that too, she loves labels.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

yes, that's it Cala. the paper label works good on folders. i am leery on the waterproof one. the labels does not adhere as it should, at least not on all materials.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

MaVie, you are right, but I've seen them used at the Daylily farm, they stick them on metal taggie things, the kind with a metal plate on sticks. What about copper tags that you wire on, the kind you use a style to make an imprint?
