Help with font please Dave

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

I've read on other threads that you've now reverted to the original font size Dave. However, despite emptying my cache, mine is still enormous. How can i see the same as the rest of you please?.........i'd like the smaller font back again, hate this big one.

if using Netscape >> click View, u got choice between increase or decrease fort size.

if using IE >> click View, scroll down to Text size, chose ur preference to size of font. hth

It's already set on smallest MVR! :(

Mine is still big. Not so big than in the beginning but I would like it smaller. Can't I enjoy to read small text while I still can? =)

Dave;
'You can please some of the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time.'
I just feel that you do one heck of a job here and feel if many people have complaints; I don't see them start up their own web site.
I feel why complain for what we have today, for tomorrow it may be gone,so enjoy what is available and make the best of what is to be. Complain less and enjoy more.

On my end; I like the way it is right now. So much easier to read with this ole eyesight. I thank you.

That's a bit strong CoCo, to put it mildly.
Dave says he's put the font back to how it was, and that's all i'd like.
I'm not one to complain - just mystified as to why i can't get the old font back. And i'm sure Dave is aware of how much i enjoy the site and appreciate what he does as i have let him know in the past.

philomel, I had to click my text size quite a few times to get it to change. (However, I usually keep my text at "smaller" or "medium" anyway.)
You could also try changing your screen size. I have Win2k but even if you don't it may be nearly the same procedure.
Right click your desktop, then click Active Desktop, then Customize desktop. When a window comes up click Settings and set your Screen area to 800 X 600 pixels. Click OK or Apply.
See if that helps. (If you're already at 800X600, then try going even further.)

Thanks Horseshoe, but the thing is that i don't really want to change the whole of what i see on the web - that's all as before. Was just hoping to get the text on THIS site back to how it was, as i thought Dave had put it back to the original font, as well as font size. I thought that's what had been said on another thread, but understood others were having trouble reverting back too.

At the moment i am seeing it in a very large arial whereas i think it was in a smaller Times New Roman before.

How is everyone else's??

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

phil, I wish I could help, mine went back as soon as dave changed it yesterday. what OS do you have? that might help someone put a finger on why it won't go back.

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Thanks tiG. What's OS?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

:) sorry, operating system. are you on a Mac, windows 2000, win98??

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Ah, wondered if it was that but couldn't think what the abbreviation would stand for.
Windows 98SE

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

have you tried shutting down and restarting??

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

CoCo, i'm sorry you didn't feel it was approprate to send your apology to this thread rather than privately.
If you didn't want to point a finger at me then perhaps to start a new, more generalised thread would have been a better way to air your views on 'complainers'

Anyway, apology accepted, and yes, I've had an enjoyable day with my daughter out in the woods in the sunshine and watching wildlife, thanks.
Hope you have a good day too (mine's further along than yours, I'm 5 hours ahead of DG time) and best wishes, no hard feelings :)

Philomel, I had a terrible problem with it yesterday -- tried everything, including clearing the cache and rebooting twice, but nothing worked and the font remained so huge that it overwhelmed my laptop screen. Dave did something on his end to restore things to normal. I do not know what he did. The font itself is different now, but the size is back to normal (just a bit smaller than it was to begin with, in fact). I am sure he will fix it for you when he sees your post.

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

tiG, yes i have. I've cleared the cache and rebooted a couple of times and still no change :( But thanks for the suggestion
Thanks whiterose, yes i'll wait for Dave to ride past on his white charger LOL
(glad he fixed it for you :)

How is it now?

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

That's absolutely brilliant!!! Thanks Dave.
It's still in ?arial, which i like - it's very clear - but is now just the right size.

Thanks so much :oD

I'll have to send some oats, or apples, or polos or something for that white charger of yours *G*

I wanted to send you the apology first and after I had sent it to you, my phone ran and got busy on this end so didn't have the opportunity to make the public apology sooner. Again,I'm sorry but I have posted the same apology that you received.

philomel;
I apologize if I offended you in anyway on what I posted. Was not my intent. Was not pointing a finger just at you. Just people in general. I read so much about the way some people complain, that they just don't appreciate what they do have and what is made available to them. I try and enjoy what I have and what is made available each and every day,for who knows what may happen tomorrow, it just may not be there; like the sun rising in the morning, the cool breezes, the birds signing, etc. We never know when today may be our last, so I try and make the most of what we have available today and enjoy every minute of today. Who knows what tomorrow may bring.
Again,I'm sorry if I upset you in anyway and I do hope that you will accept my apology. Just not one of my good days I guess.
Wishing you the very best and hope you do have a good day and do enjoy the things that are around you; no matter how small it may be.
Blessings to you
CoCo

Just by the way, some clever person told us here that, if you have a wheel mouse, scrolling while you press the 'Ctrl' key will change the font size. It works for me and I'm much impressed.

Pardon my ignorance, how do you empty your cache? Is that the same as deleting your Temporary Internet Files?

Ulrich, yes - using your tools to empty your cache and internet files are pretty much the same thing...at least you do it the same way (I think of my cache as being my history. Which automatically clears out every three days, but on heavy research days I hit the 'net so hard and so long, I clear it out a couple of times (it gets embarassingly full otherwise!)

Thanx Terry
