Dr Seuss x Solid Gold and it was the middle of three seedlings. there is also a L (which we're currently trying to name, and an R)
one of Eric's needs name
so where did the peach color come from?
the inside
It looks like melon or Apricot to me! What kind of melon, I think cantalope would be to orange for this one.
LOL tiG.........where did the peach color come from in the parents.
PJ, this one is a very variable, it's more orangy today, like a cantalope that's sat out.
kell, pink and orange make peach sometimes:)
brugs are like a box of chocolates......
oh, so the Dr. Suess is the yellow to orange and the Solid Gold is not gold but pink?
oh duh, wasn't thinking! no they are both light to dark orange/gold depending on time of year. you're asking how two pinks can cross and throw a white!!! same thing. wild genes are in there somewhere. One of my sons has blue eyes, but ours are all brown. it's that kind of thing. throwbacks.
you and your husband must have the blue recessive gene............. LOL I hope!!!
I'm almost ready to decide my Dr S is J O, I have never see it so orange as this year!!
repeat after me, there is no Jutner Orange, there is not Jutner Orange.....
LOL - ok!! Then does Chas G get orange??
yes, so does Dr Seuss, and Becca Lynn is pretty dark right now too. A lot of people say they get darker in the summer, but they sure are loving our current weather. Do you have CG???
Don't thinks so, unless my old yellow one is - the one you think is Dr S. Wish you could have seen it blooming, it is sooo loaded now and darker than I have ever seen it.
no, that is definitely Dr Seuss!!!!
Ok - If I ever mention this again, just slap me!!
hehehe, never!!!
Back to yours, Sort of reminds me of Orange Sherbet.
oh I like that name! why didn't you post it the other day?? well, it's in the database, so I'm not going to mess with it, especially as it told me it's name. :) you know I haven't gotten one yellow or peach seedling??? I still have quite a few with buds if we have the time left. what week was it last year we had frost??? how long was our indian summer after that?
Didn't post it because I thought you wanted to stay with the "Kissed" series, and that is a good idea.
Last year we had hard frost Oct 22nd or23rd, just a day or 2 before my company from Va came - they are coming back the same date this year. Don't remember after that! I just remember that it was tramatic for me because my friend had never seen brug and my Dr. S was so loaded, and it looked like a giant cooked spinich plant for them. I gave her a cutting and it didn't bloom this year for her, so she still hasn't seen one!
Keeping "everything" crossed for at least 2 more warm weeks this year.

at least 2!!! I am going to keep the Kiss series for seedlings and probably shouldn't have put DxS M in that group. :( well, it did like the name, so it's stuck now. Make a decision and stick with it I say!!! lol
A brug by any other name would smell as sweet!!
Azalea....my last flush (last week) on my Dr. Seuss was the darkest orange it had been all summer:) I think it loves cooler weather:)
Tig,I'm surprized you haven't named one "Georgia Peach!"
but Eric lived in FL. I really thought about that!
Well it was born and raised in Georgia!Or wasn't it a seedling?Well, next good peachy seedling has gotta be that!
