Well, we are moving out of the trailer Thursday, and into this house we are building. It's VERY unfinished. Take a peek of the pictures I took tonight.

So, this is probably my goodbye for a bit until we get a little more settled and the election out of the way. I will have internet until Thursday though, and I may check in from time to time from my office though, since I won't be able to stay away completely. I love you guys too much and I'll miss you all!!!! Plus, when election time draws nearer, I'll need the support of my DG family to keep me sane.
Hugs,
Joan
Moving in 2 days, are we ready?
we'll miss you. take care, and good luck and God's will on the election. looking forward to when you come back. now I'm off to look at pictures:)
love the pictures, at least you still have your sense of humor!!! don't lose it now:)
Joan, your new house is unfinished, but those photos show that it's going to be a dream when all is said and done. Good job! Hope you are feeling much better. Please check in when you are able -- best of luck in the coming election -- will be thinking of you and praying for you! God bless.
Joan...boy oh boy are you going to have fun dusting all your furniture....hehe
It is going to be a very stressful time during these next few months for you and I wish you and your family an easy time of it all. Best of luck in the election and on the completion of your lovely home.
Keep in touch when you can. We will all be waiting to hear from you.
Donna
Looks like the taper knows what he is doing. I just hate a bad tape job. Wish our addition was this far along!
Bernie
Joan, will your address stay the same? (Po Box?)
Thank you all for your comments and well wishes.
Yes tiG, I still do have my sense of humor, but it's getting more warped as time goes on. LOL! This is the strangest situation I've found myself in yet and I've been through tons of stuff!
Whiterose, it is going to be my dreamhouse for sure. This will be the very first REAL house I've ever lived in throughout my 41 years on earth. I'm still fighting the cold/flu thing, but trying to ignore it. Thank you for your prayers. They are very much appreciated and needed at this time.
SoCal, yes, this is going to be a very stressful couple of months ahead, I'll be thinking of you all too.
Bernie!!! This taper guy really does do a great job doesn't he? And he's so peticular. He is taking more time than we expected, but it's only because he's fussy, so that's okay.
Evert, yes our address will be the same. We are moving into the house we built in front of the trailer house we are now living in, so no address change.
Thank you all so much for being here with me, and I will miss you lots, but will definitely check in when I can.
Hugs and Blessings,
Joan
Oh Joan! Your house is going to be Beautiful! I hope the workers are going gung ho the next two days. I know a lot can be done in that amount of time. And what isn't done you will work around. In the meantime close your eyes and repeat after me...I can cope with Dust and paint and can face this transition and will not faint! When they finish the walls, the doors and the floors, I will not take them for granted forevermore! And when the last cutain and picture is hung and when I hear the doorbell rung I'll throw the door open wide inviting friends and loved ones inside with joy and with pride! And until then....We your friends will be here when you need a break!
Good luck with the elections!
'kay Zany, repeating after you....
"I can cope with Dust and paint and can face this transition and will not faint! When they finish the walls, the doors and the floors, I will not take them for granted forevermore! And when the last curtain and picture is hung and when I hear the doorbell rung I'll throw the door open wide inviting friends and loved ones inside with joy and with pride!"
Thank you for that! I've printed it out, cropped it down so it fits in my purse and will carry it with me and read it throughout this transition period.
Atta Girl! You are living your dream with this house and I admit to being a wee bit green about the gils! But It doesn't stop me from being happy for you and your family!
joan really glad to hear your moving into the house-proably warmer than the trailer!
oh im so happy for you but will miss you while your NOT hooked up!
Have fun girl!
Congratulations Joan - the final steps huh!!! I don't think you will be stressed out - I think you are going to have lots of fun and that's what you must tell yourself. Good luck with the election!!! You know we are pulling for you and praying for that end. I can honestly agree with Zany, it's amazing how much can be done in just a couple of days. When we took a look at our house during the construction and the closing date was drawing nearer and nearer, I would never have thought it could be done on time. But it was!! All the best to you dear Joan and hope you soon get rid of that nasty bug!!! (((Hugs)))
Joan, if it's any consolation, my DH and I caught that bug about a month ago and we're still fatigued and have a mild cough but it really does get better! The doctor told us that the effects of the virus hang on for awhile but it helps to eat well, sleep lots and drink fluids. Hope you are able to do those things even though your schedule is hectic right now, and am praying for you to have all the physical, emotional and spiritual strength and stamina you need in the days ahead. I will look forward to reading your posts whenever you are able to check in.
Congrats Joan! I know this has been stressful for you....but see how far you've come??!! It's just about over.
We moved into our house before it was completely finished and I can tell you from experience...you'll collapse out of relief at first, but you've got to make yourself get back to the job after a well deserved break.
The only thing not finished now is our upstairs 'bonus' room and it wasn't even in the plans. We just decided to put one up there after construction started. Actually,we can't decide what to do with it.There's only the two of us and we have more room than we need downstairs. I have stairs going to 'nowhere' just like the Cartwrights did on Bonanza! Keith will most likely make a recording studio out of it to use when we retire. I told him he could do anything he liked with the room and decorate it any way he wants...*gasp* Wonder what I'll get????
Congrat on your new dreamhouse. It will be our next! We are like you.. we are going to move in the house when it is unfinished.. OUr house will start build any time this month.. HOpefully!
Good luck! And the one thing I can say is "cheesecloth". It picks up the drywall dust and the sanding dust the best. The painters and stainers used it on the woodwork and walls before they started staining and painting.
Joan, what exciment is in store for you and your family!
congratulations! and good luck...
Okay, Joan, it's Thursday here in Oz - hope the move goes well for you all.
Sending you a cyber-hug, a cyber-cuppa, and some cyber- chocky to keep up your strength.
Pam
Boy, do these pics bring back memories. I have done this so many times. I can even smell the drywall mud just looking at these pics. Been there, done that....more times than I care to remember - LOL...BEAUTIFUL Home...Enjoy it!
Joan enjoy your new home I know you will be in a mess for awhile and we will sure miss ya around here. Will be thinking of you often. Check in when ya can and hurry back.
Hugs
Joan the pictures are great - I agree keep that sense of humor. I hope everything goes smoothly with the house and the election. Hope you continue to feel better. It will be great when you get back and you have more pictures to share.
Joan....we will miss you here...and maryE and I will have no one up late as us to chat on MSN...as the rest of the country is earlier than us!! Hurry Back! Love ya gal...Jo
Thanks so much for all your well wishes and encouragement. I'm sitting here in a pretty much bare trailer house enjoying my last night in it, and my last night of DG before I have to take the computer down tomorrow. I'll try to check in once again before I do that.
I'm gonna miss you guys SOOOOO much!
Hugs,
Joan
