Hey Shirley and Frannie, I'm waving at you. Frannie, I see you brought out the long sleeves. Brrr. Have a safe trip home. Frannie I forgot what I was going to email you on the flowers. Now I am gonna have to really think. Maybe Arlene can help.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Shirley: So glad you made their visit happy, good food, good times. Something to long remember.....

Milo, IA(Zone 5a)

We all had a great time. Shirley is a great cook, I am still full. She fixed a super seafood salad and coleslaw to go along with the main meal, plus homemade pies. Her flowers still look marvelous. It was just like the warm feelings that we get from each other here. Like we had known each other forever.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Debby, I'm so glad that you and Ted came down to join us in welcoming Frannie and Lisa to Iowa.

Kyle, those were boneless beef ribs. Did kinda taste like pot roast. Wish you all had eaten more. Jim and I aren't good about eating leftovers.

I had one of our elementary teachers make the stone. Thought she did a pretty good job, considering all she had to use for a pattern was a couple of wilted brug blooms.

I had such a good time tonight visiting with all who came to help welcome Frannie and Lisa. It got a little cold outside and by about nine o'clock, Kyle was the only one without a coat on. Bet he turned the heat on in the car. Am looking forward to seeing Frannie and Lisa in the morning. Tomorrow is going to be a warm day...........the last one I'm afraid.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Brugie, great picture. Franny , looks like you and Lisa are having a ball. Boy, y'all have sure done lots since I met you at Gloria's. Kyle, nice to see you! Looks like everybody is having a great time. Wish we could have a little cool weather; it has just rained and rained and rained and is so dreary.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

I'm wondering if the truck is full yet?

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Bet it is by now. Sure would like a picture of it, bet there are brugs sticking everywhere.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Hi Everyone,
Lisa Here! Frannie & Shirley are out in the gardens looking around and I wanted to come in and check my email before the long drive home. Yes the truck is FULL! But it is all good. Oh Yeah, guess what, last night as we were leaving Shirley's we finally got pulled over by Two Chariton Police Officers. All eyes were on the plants in the back. But we told them that we are in a plant club & that is where the plants are from. Oh yeah, the reason we got pulled over was because our front Left HeadLights were out. So Jim fixed them this morning. We are so thankful for him doing that for us. BTW: We didn't get a ticket. Thanks again to everyone that we met along our journey. We have enjoyed every stop of the way. Take Care all and we will talk more when we get back home to Texas.
Signed, Lisa & Frannie

Just had to tell on Lisa.........you know she is the driver. As they left here this afternoon at about 4:10, they should have gone from our house back into town and west to I-35. Wrong!! Lisa turned north, and they headed to Knoxville. I came in to find her cell phone number and finally got them called just as they figured out they were going the wrong direction. They didn't have to backtrack to get to I-35, but it did put an extra 40-50 miles on today's trip. Had to laugh. After they drove 2200 miles to get here and didn't get lost or take wrong turns, they did it in little ole Iowa. They have 1100 miles to go to get home. What a nice time we had and I sure hated to see them leave.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Bless their hearts! i was so glad to meet them. lisa will be missing her computer, maybe they'll stop at kinkos again.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I don't know Arlene, that was an expensive stop for a short time on the puter. They will be so tired when they get home and unloading that vehicle is going to be a job. Just hope they get home safely. It was great to have someone spend that much road time to come to visit us all.

I received a call from Lisa and Frannie last night checking on Ron....they are dolls. I sure hope to see them in the future. I have a sister that lives in the Houston area not far from Frannie.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Sounds like a fun trip to me Gloria.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Lisa & Frannie Here,
We have finally ended our journey home as of 2:30PM CT this afternoon. Whew!!! That is a long drive home! Nobody told us about the 224 miles on the Kansas TurnPike! That was a long, boring drive. Anyway, Thank you all again for all the wonderful memories that you have given to us. Yes, I did go the wrong way, Shirley, but you didn't have to tell on me! :-) We are pooped, nevertheless we are so glad that we experienced the meeting & visiting with you, also seeing your beautiful places. We will write more later. Take Care!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Glad you made it home safe - It was great meeting both of you too!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Frannie, thanks for calling. It is good to know you are safe and sound. Hope you don't over do it now with all the work you have to do after emptying the Suburban. :-)

Glad to hear y'all got home safe and sound. Ron and I did so enjoy the visit.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Before closing this thread, I just wanted to let everyone know how much I appreciate being welcomed into your homes and also those who drove to come meet and visit with us. Our trip was around 3500 miles in 12 days and we did not spend over 24 hours in one place except the 2 nights that we spent with Lisa's friend in Nasvhille. I wish that we could have met and visited more of you but it was just not possible this time. Maybe next year . . . another road trip!

Thanks to all of you who followed us on Dave's because that added to the fun.

I will try and figure out how to add pictures to my journal and I will post more pictures of eveyone and their gardens that we visited on our road trip.

Arlene . . When I get caught up a little, I will make a picture cd and send you a copy.

Thanks for all the memories!
Frannie
