PB/Rosamond

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

I don't know Owen, that is the great thing about being here, we are able to see things as they develope, we have some really great hybridizers and lots of knowledge in the collective bunch. I have always gotten really good answers and they are always able to get rid of the "unknowns" or the bad performers. If things go the way everyone seems to want them to, in no time at all it will be very organized and everyone will know what they are getting. Keep up the great work guys!

Owen, That is why it is so important to mark the pods as to the cross when they are pollinated.I'm sure out of all the seedlings that will be grown no one has the room to keep every one so only the very best ones will be kept and named and the rest culled. This is just the way I'm doing it but I'm sure most here have a similar way.I mark every pod with a tag that tells the cross and the date it was pollinated.

Susie, that is what my last remaining pod looks like. Your brug blooms have the same shape as mine, but are a little more peachy colored. Very pretty, I have to say.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

here's mine. at this angle you can't see the ridges like on yours, but I just checked them, and they all have it. look just alike but... as they are sisters, wouldnt' the pods look alike anyway?

Call me dense............does the pollen parent have anything to do with the shape of the seed pod?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

No, I haven't found it to make any difference.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

kyle said it does.....

I personally haven't seen a difference

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Susie...........have always wondered. Noticed that the pod on my Tropical Sunset, pollinated with PB/Rosamond is the same shape. Must mean that whatever the mother plant is ie: candida, versicolor, insignis, etc. that she determines the shape of the pod.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Nice pods tig and Cala. :) Next year is going to be very exciting.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Monika I hope you are here soon cause i'm not positive, but Monika DID post a pic with two different shaped seed pods on the same plant. i believe it is the candidas, can vary with different dads. i'm guessing since the R kids are so closely related their pods are probably pretty much the same.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I wish I could go take a pic of my pods since this is pod show and tell!!! But I can hardly walk! Are you all showing Pink Beauty/Rosamond pods??

Snow, your pods are so LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pray tell who is the mom and dad???

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I am in agony Brugnanny........... my back is out and I am miserable! Please send all get well frostie-less pink brugs to my home address.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

She still hasn't lost her sense of humor tho!! Must be from hauling in all those "other" brugs. Seriously, I'm sure we all can sympathize with you if your back is messed up, seems like that's an occupational hazard with us gardeners.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

What do the butterfly pods look like? Isn't it a sibling too? Or Rosabelle? Anyone have a Rosabelle pod to show?

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

That's one beautiful brug Tig.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I have both, if I can't find the pics in my mess of photos I will take some tomorrow.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

kell, They are Milk N Honey pods with MNH being the mother. There are a few different dads that were crossed.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh Kell . . I hate to hear about your back. I know exactly what you are going thru and it is sure not any fun. As a matter of fact, it is just plain misery. Hope it gets better soon but I also know it can even take weeks.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, I hope your back gets better, else how will you build that new greenhouse?
