Farm Aid

Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

When this started 15 years ago, it sickened me to think that it was needed. The sad thing is, that it is still needed. There are farmers out there who are good farmers who still can't make it go. I'm not suggesting anyone donate to this, I'd just like you all to consider what a country without farmers would be. Think about the factory pig farms in North Carolina that were flooded out and have put areas of that state in danger because of pollution of the water tables. Think about what happens to both animals and people when the food supply is so detached from the population that children think supermarkets manufacture milk. Think about what a nation with no food supply of its own would be like. This country has suffered NO food shortages in 70 years. Food is plentiful, safe and cheap. Stop a moment at the table and thank God and then give a thought to the farmers who brought that food to market for you.

Amen! Kathleen,I'm so glad that you posted this.I'm not a farmer and have no idea what you all go through to get good food to all of us each day,but I want to thank YOU for believing in what you do. We need people like you to keep America great. And yes,it's such a shame that something like Farm Aid is even needed. Keep up the good work...you are appreciated.
