new dieting forum

it seems to me there are alot of people out there who would benefit from a forum where they could get support from fellow dieters. We could share advice, tips, offer news on new ideas and diets and generally offer support in our struggle. What do you think?

indeed I have. Thats what started this whole ball rolling in the first place

We had a daily healthy living thread for about six months, sort of like the Farm Forum folks do, but I must admit I got kind of burned out and discouraged and quit doing the posts. As the months wore on, there was less and less participation on that thread and I felt like my sole purpose in writing was to beg people to post and encourage each other. It just got really disheartening for me, to be honest. Though it was always open for anyone to start each day's thread, few people seemed to notice or start a new daily thread there, so I let it slide.

Would a separate dieting forum get more people interested? If so, why not give it a try?

I have sent an email to dave requesting a new forum for dieting. Would this interest any of you DG'ers out there. Stops the threads getting too long and complicated.

I think the interest isn't high enough. Let's continue to use the Health forum for now, and, when you have a large enough following, re-introduce the idea of a new forum.

I'd love to see a Weight Control Forum!! I'm particulary interested in an eating program that billr brought up last nite........Mastering the Zone!! There are a lot of health problems that cannot accomodate some diets, and dietary supplements. I think a Forum to discuss the success and failures of current diets and eating plans would be beneficial, especially to those of us who are physically challanged.

I liked what billr said last night too...and I think a dieting forum might just motivate me...especially if he came on it and explained it further. It might even help to lower the need for some of our medications!! I'm gaining weight now that I have quit smoking!! HELP I don't want to go through all the other health info to get to the diets. Jo

There's not that much health info on that forum, though - once in a while someone posts, but not often. If all the posts say "Healthy Living" in the title, it's simple to search and find the most recent one, I'd think. The more forums we have, the more people go off into their little spots and that might be counter productive in some ways, don't you think? I mean, dieting is more than just food intake, it's health in general, really, isn't it?

OK folks, we stayed at the Health and Dieting Forum but we are calling the thread "support" and changing it each day. So today's thread is called "support - Sept. 19"
Dave, I want to post a chart on the support thread so everyone can print it out, how do I do that? I mean, I know I can just scan it and post it, but can they print it out?
