Bible Walk

montgomery, AL(Zone 7b)

Dave, I was looking at Bible Walk search. It found what I asked for but when I went to the finding I got BAD REQUEST. Thanks for all the new features. I'm sure it will take time to get all the wrinkles ironed out :)

Thanks Kimberley, I'm gonna go there now.

I was curious and visited Bible Walk. That's very impressive, Dave! Even an old heathen like me can go to that site and find passages. You never cease to amaze me!

weezie, GW & Joan. Would it work for U? It gave me the book & chapter but I couldn't go to it. I guess indirectly Dave U are linked to it :)

What exactly is the problem you are having, Sugar_FL? Can you tell me specifically the steps you are taking to replicate this problem?

Dave I am clicking on UNWATCHING THREAD at the top of the thread.

On the Bible Walk? There is no thread watcher on the Bible Walk.

A very confused,

Hey, Dave -- can we post requests on this forum about the Bible Walk? I'm going to dive on in, just in case...

It would be really helpful if the search results for a text string could include the first couple words before the search term, the search term, and the next few words after it. Something like...

Genesis 3:21 ...coats of skins, and clothed them...
Genesis 37:34 ...rent his clothes, and put sackcloth...

That would enable the user to scan through the search results quickly and eliminate ones which aren't right on target.

Climbing out and shaking the water from my hair now. ;)Now where'd I put that fleece?

You're not asking for much, are you? :)

I doubt I'll get to that very soon, but it's a "one day.." kind of thing. It sounds great.

I don't know if I'm asking for much - I'm not a programmer, so it all sounds easy to me, LOL!

In this case, you're asking for a great deal. :)

Dave! You rock, my man! Thank you!! :)

Gardenwife,

You may already be aware of this site, but I go to it a lot for research. Bible Garetway. You can look up Bible verses, topical studies, and even have the Bible read to you. Awesome.

Oh, you're so right, Carla - Bible Gateway is great, especially with the various translations available. I just love how fast Dave's Bible site is -- zoom!

Temuco, Chile(Zone 9b)

I just love the way you can " walk " through any of the passages....Incredible !
Good one Dave.

Dave, what a great site! Did a search for "rose of sharon" just to try it, and found a lovely passage from Song of Solomon. Thanks, John

The Bible Walk has been a part of Dave's web pages for quiet awhile now (I'm thinking 3 years). It was just hasn't been linked to on DG for a long time.

However, back when DG was no more than a trade tracking tool it was there. When DG got its own domain name, we kept it separate.

It is nice to see fellow DGers using and enjoying it. For the most part, it has only had Dave and I as visitors, plus the occasional internet wanderer.

Glad to see it is getting used more :)

Trish I can get to it & find the verse I want BUT when I go to it I get the message, "bad request" WHY?
Sugar

Sugar: I don't see the problem. Can you give me precise steps that I can replicate it? I can't fix it if I don't see it. :(

Dave I click on Scif
Then on Bible Walk
Put in a search phrase
That brings up the verse (verses)
OOOOPS I found the problem *red faced* If it only has one verse they give it there. Two or more it works. I was putting in "Jesus wept" so didn't realize it till I tried a new search. Sorry to bother you & glad there isn't a problem :)
