Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Will that man never stop? Just noticed some mighty nice format changes!
Will hush up till others notice tho!

(Is that a good way to put it? "Format changes"?) (Ya'll know I'm not too deep when it comes to puter stuff).

What changes did you notice?

OH MY GOONNESS!!!! NO WAY!!! (??) Yes way???

Methinks you've been having too much fun!
Very cool!

In addition to the new layout, we can post pics beyond the first post? (You're messing with me, right?)

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

no total views shown on post page, post reply link at top, ability to put picture in thread, which is the coolest! I don't know how you do it. and I've only been on a few minutes

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I just noticed the top of the threads also...your darn kewl, Mr. Dave.

Donna

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Way cool! (Is that still what the cool kids say???)

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

MORE pics in each message! TOTAL KEWLNESS! lolol!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I saw that "browse" window and thought I was seeing things!!!

Fort Gibson, OK(Zone 7a)

Is that what "seamless" is about ? Very smooth change!!!
So much nicer than "Maintence scheduled 2 to 4 AM some services will not be available". However it was phrased
they were really saying we goin' tweak some things and nothing will work right till someone figures out what we did.
This site works great ... we can spend time loading graphics we want to see instead of having to wait for GUI
pop-up ads to stop jammming things. Thank - you!!!

This change tonight represents about 3 weeks of non-stop coding in preparation for this.

Essentially, every single line of the DG forum code has been re-written. The site you are using is brand-spanking new.

I call the system Scif and you can read about it by hitting the Scif logo on the bottom of the right side column. It's a foundation upon which I am building some pretty impressive sites for a lot of clients out there.

Currently, it looks and behaves almost exactly as before, but now that the conversion was successful (hopefully) I can start rolling in my other real features.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I read about that system yesterday, things are certainly moving fast!!

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Hyperlinks open in new windows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More coolness!!!!!!!!! Gotta' go look for more new stuff. I feel like a kid hunting Easter eggs. ROTF!

Alfred, ON(Zone 4b)

Dave this is so cool.

I clicked on the picture of the stapelia or hureina??? BTW I love this picture, do you have that plant? whats the name I would like to add it to my wishlist *LOL*

anyways when I clicked on it it showed
Image Copyright Horseshoe is this a picture from you or from shoe?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I love how clicking on a hyperlink opens a new window. That way you don't lose the place you were at.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

I have just got to test this! If what I see is correct then we can add a picture to an exisring thread? Well here goes....

dave, the site has never been so fast.

Alfred, ON(Zone 4b)

*LOL* zany
it worked :)
what is Trish wisiting??

Thanks, tiG. It sounds like an exageration, but the site should be running about 20,000% faster than before.

Dave

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Dave you are the coolest person so smart and you are the best to make everyone happy! =)

Hey everyone need to applause to Dave !!!! Hoooooray =D

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

uh oh, now I might get all the posts read, which means I'll be talking more.....

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Is the editing feature the trade off for being able to post the pictures?

No Zany, the edit feature will be back.

Actually, I never had to program the edit feature for the big client who I re-wrote this entire system for in the first place, so I have to write that from the beginning. It won't happen tonight - but likely will tomorrow.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Very cool! I noticed the scif power last night and clicked on it. Very interesting!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Way cool about adding photos to existing threads! I was just about to ask if that was a bug or a new feature, but I don't have to ask that! Woooo, nice!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Being able to add a photo to an existing thread will help lots!!!!! Then we won't have to start another thread to compare pictures, especially in the ID forum and such. Way Too Cool!!!!

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

I second what everyone else said, Dave. We are truly lucky to have such a clever 'Gardener'! Being able to add photos to existing threads is going to be fun!

Wow Weezingreens......your pic is gorgeous!

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

This is a picture of a local weed, Pushki, beginning its fall colors. I edited it into a watercolor effect. Thanks.

I thought it was nice to view the 'thread you are watching" from newest to oldest.

(Zone 8a)

Mings...me too! But what the hay! Life goes on!!!!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Could we have something where we could click on the header of a column and sort the results by that column, maybe?

The watcher list has been updated this morning to allow you to sort by date, forum, and subject. Give it a try!

dave

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Wooo! Hey, by the way, I VERY MUCH like how hyperlinks to places outside of DG now spawn a new browser window. That's great - no more shift-left-clicking. :)

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

sorting. lost me there. Is there a way to just look at your list adn get rid of a thread you no longer want to watch with out loading it? clicking unwatch thread and then back again?
