Who is your favorite football team and why. I love the Redskins. I grew up loving them. My dad was a fan and I took over from there. I don't know why he was a fan, he always lived in Ohio. But I think the Redskins truly are America’s team. Not the Cowgirls down in Texas.

By the way, Howie...one of my finest "trophies" I've ever owned was a rain poncho I picked up at the Salvation Army...it was red and had the Redskins pic/logo on it.Wish I had it now!
Yes Sue they do play the Eagles Monday night. Sorry about your luck. I will have my Redskins jersey on and rooting them on. And yes I know all about how mean the cowboys can be during a losing season. It seams the only win they can count on is against the Redskins. But not this year.

In my younger day when I use to get my football pool I learned real early NEVER PICK THE EAGLES, they always do what you don't want them too!!!!!!!! The only time I would play was when they had a bi-week!!!!!!!
When I first realized what football was (many moon's ago) I was an OAKLAND RAIDER'S fan, my Dad took me to a game the first year Vet stadium opened in philly and what did I buy????? Raider's stuff!!!!!!!! These day's it really is hard to pick just one team for me because with all the MONEY stuff that goes on the players don't stick around long enough to be a TEAM!!!!!! Although I must admit that watching JERRY RICE as a Raider tonight against the Steeler's (DH'S team) just make's my heart skip a beat!!!!! The only thing that could be better is to have John Madden announce the game!!! So there you have it, my thought's on football!!!!!!

Howie, you've got good taste! DH and I (along with many other folks in our area) have become Redskins fans since Steve Spurrier took over. He's a fun coach to watch.
As a former Gator fan, I like Steve Spurrier too. I hope the Redskins do well. Jo
I do like Spurrier but I sure do miss Joe Gibbs. But I'm a nascar fan so I get to root for him there.

Favorite pro teams? Well, gee we live 30 minutes from where the Titans play, so they're probably our favorite team to have a love/hate relationship with. (Eddie George is great, Eddie George is a bum, Eddie George is great, Eddie George is a bum...)
The Colts are pretty high on our hit list, with Peyton Manning and all...(too bad DD wasn't 15 years older, we would have been offering all we have as a dowry for her to marry the guy, if that is any indication how much we love Peyton. There's always his little brother, I 'spose.)

Well, some Texan has to jump in here somewhere. How about them cowgirls playing last wk? They let us, as an expansion team, look like we were the pros & they were the expansion team. That gives S. Texas bragging rites for the next 4 yrs. We don't play them again for that long.
As for the Titans, I hope ya'll love them as much as we loved our 'Love ya, Blue'. We just couldn't stand that moneyhungry owner whose name I won't even mention.
We had the same thing up here in Cleavland. I don't think it's right to be able to move teams around like that.
Giants Blue since '52 when Chris Shenckel used to start the televised broadcasts by describing the teams uniforms since it was black and white tv. There were only 8 teams then,I think. The Giants games were sponsored by Atlantic Refining Company and Miller beer. Atlantic is long since defunct but Miller is still around. Guess beer lasts longer than gas.
Oh BTW in case no one noticed the Giants beat the Rams Sunday evening!!

Well I remember the long ago days of football as well. The only team on TV at tha t time around here was the Redskins and they never won. Most of the time it wasn't even close. My all time favorite team is the Greenbay Packers. The days of Bart Starr and Ray Nische(spelling) Now they dominated every year until Broadway Joe came a calling. Now I pull for the Falcons just because of the locale.
I'll just say this and run! We support the Vikings since they are the closest we have to a home team. Someday they are gonna do something really surprising.
I now have gone from the Steelers to the Redskins to the Eagles in about a week. Nothing like supporting a winner.:)
