Plant Sale today

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

We do an annual sale in the spring to benefit the volunteers at the local hospital. We were asked to do one this fall, so we got there early and set up. Well, they hit us, and it didn't let up till 4 when the sale was over!! We sold over $1200. They keep part of the proceeds. We made money and helped a good cause. Now, I want to go prop my feet up!!

Boy, this looks familiar! For several years our local garden club put on plant sales. The proceeds were used to buy garden books for the library and to bring in guest garden speakers. Plant sales are wonderful for the community in so many ways. Where else can they go and get so much wonderful information, as well as plants!

TiG, we brought the horse trailer full, Steve's pickup full and my SUV was full of mums(I sneezed all the way there!) and we had to keep going back and get more, it was a mad house!! They would grab them as we tried to bring them in. We didn't get to eat lunch till 2, had to go get Steve some OJ because his bloodsugar got too low.

How many people went in on this - I mean how many others contributed plants. I'll bet you did 90% of it!! Our Garden club does this in the spring, there are about 50 members and only about 10 of us really donate plants.

It really looks nice set up inside. We use a covered booth in a parking lot and it always turns cold that day. Congratulations.

These were all my plants. We gave the hospital 25% of gross sales, they need the money to keep the volunteer organization going, there were 2 other businesses set up there, one with UT stuff, and one with uniforms. The volunteers get all their money from donations and from these sales(also from the little gift shop that they run in the hospital)They wanted to buy poinsettias from me, but I'm afraid it will take my whole crop to fill the order!!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Soooo - Why do you care who buys them???

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

cause then the nursery customers will go somewhere else!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It didn't matter who bought them.
