My Cookbook Arrived!

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

I just wanted to let Dave and the gang know that my cookbook arrived yesterday! I am so impressed! The layout is great, the cover and divider pages are beautiful, and inside are all these recipes from my friends at Dave's!

I've made up my mind to start trying a new recipe once a week at least. By the end of winter, I'll be so huge I'll be shopping and the tent and tarp store for my wardrobe!

Thanks so much for thinking of me. I know so many others did as much or more than I, but if "random choice" brought me this cookbook, I won't argue!

I agree, a first class cookbook. I used to look at a recipe and if there was any ingredient I didn't like, I would turn the page. But I have learned to substitute for that particular ingredient, and now it is easier to find something 'new' for a change.

ya'll gots rabbits up that way, Weezin?...that thar Rabbit and Dumplings recipe sho 'nuff looks good to me!

You're right! That is a great cookbook! Completely full of food, goodness, and a bit part of People! Hope you enjoy it!

Yes, we have rabbits up here, buy the only ones I've ever seen are the bunny type that my neighbor saw fit to release last fall. Hate to eat a "bunny". Of course, I guess it all depends on how good the dumplings are!

I've decided to try a biscuit recipe first...bought the buttermilk required, so I'm ready to go. My biscuits have always made good hockey pucks, so I'm hoping this will pull me out of my slump!

You can send some of those hockey pucks to me, Weezin. I have 3 hockey boys who play roller hockey.

Is there a weight restriction on those hockey pucks?

Havertown, PA(Zone 6a)

Ship em third class. No hurry, and no worry that they'll spoil, right?

Naw, these babies are here for posterity! I think you have to be a food substance to spoil, don't you?

Your biscuts sound almost as good as the pineapple upside down cake I tried to bake fron scratch years ago! I wish I knew what I did because that cake would have made great tires for any car that would never wear out! The dogs played tug o war with it almost a year before they finally managed to break a piece off. And they were German shepherds!

Years ago I baked a loaf of wheat bread that was impossible to eat. I threw it out for the jays and squirrels, and it was an afternoons entertainment watching them all try to break it up or drag it off!
