One of the most wonderful things about modern technology is the email!! She can email us from the ship...unless they are in "secret stuff", and shut down the email programs. If fact, we hear from her more often when she is out to sea than we do when she is at her home. Boredum? LOL Jo

What a great picture, Roadrunner! I hope they keep safe, and really are as ready as one can be for conflict. That ship is just jam packed with this countries finest young people. Please let your grand daughter know how much we appreciate what she and the others are willing to do for us back home.

Side note: You know I'm a guidance counselor. Well, last week, I met with my seniors in groups of 10. Most have plans to go to college, but one particcular group of 10 had 5 seniors that have plans to join the Marines, Navy or Army. I thought it was neat that they all were in that one group. [I randomly chose which 10 to put in each group.]

Lois, Amy had started taking the same college courses here in AZ before she went into the Navy and got a BETTER education in the same field...and free to boot. She was chosen as RCPO(Recruit Chief Petty Officer) of her class in basic training graduation ceremony. No wonder she made "Trouble shooter". Not many girls take this avenue of training. GO GIRLS!!! One of the seniors I was talking to is going to college on an ROTC scholarship and will take their classes, and then after that, she'll do her active duty in the Army.

I have a feeling that your DGD got some of her travel genes and good sense genes from her granny ....

Just how senior does one need to be? I think I should be looking into this, seeing as how I went to college half of my life and never completed a degree plan. Oh, wait, would I have to do pushups?

Sorry RR I don't remember exactly what day it was but I think it was on Wednesday which was 9/11!!! I can't be sure though!!! I wonder if the CNN website would have any pic's??????
