We had a wonderful day today :)
Finnaly we had our day off of work, normaly we get one sunday off every three weeks.
first we went looking for a truck since we badly need a new old farmtruck.
then we went to look at the Llamas. I'm not sure if we get 2 for ourself yet. I know for sure that we get Ashley the one in the picture below. the other one Bradley the male it's not sure if we get him or my SIL.
after that we followed the agritour and we went to see some Emus and there they had some Alpacas.
we tasted some chili made from Emu meet. was real good. so we bought 4 pounds. and also some Emu oil it is supposed to be good for many things, arthritis and cuts and burns.
then we went to visit a friend at the river, there to we had some fun *LOL*
I had hot sambuca to drink ahhhhhhhhh my head is still disy.
he has a van for sale well it's a give away, so we may buy the van insted of a truck. thats still open.
I thank everyone for all the nice e-mails I got the past few days. it helped me a lot dealing with some stuff going on in my mind.
THANK YOU and ((((((((HUGS))))))) to all of you.
Carmen
I'm back!! *look what we gonna get*
(((( Carmen )))) Good to see you, friend!! What a pretty Llama, and who's her companion there? I'd love to try emu, as well as ostrich, sometime. I'll try *almost* anything once.
GW thanks,
the girl is our DD Lorisha,
the meet is pretty tasty, but tomorrow I'm going to try to make hamburgers or something. so I can really tast the meet.
She's so pretty, Carmen. So tell me, was it love at first sight for Lorisha?
Did you know llamas make great therapy animals? I just got Nancy Noel's catalog, and there is a lot about llamas in there since she raises them and sells their wool as well as paints. Her catalog is gorgeous, with articles in it, and her prints are not very expensive. The one I just got had several pages about llamas! If you're interested, go to http://nancynoel.com and take a look around there. She's wonderful. :)
GW,
yes it was love at first sight :)
This Llama followed Lorisha all around. there where so many to choose from. I myself had an eye for another one, but that other one was way way to expensiv. and how can you say no to these two??
I'm heading for the link you posted. thanks
Oh I forgot to tell something !!
We also went to a nursery that is verry close by and I did not know about it *LOL*
I finnaly got to ID a tree I'm looking for since so long.
its an european mountain ash SORBUS A... something
they also had a few other plants on my wish list.
catalpa, russian olive and a ginko biloba
does anyone know if the berries on the european mountain ash are poisenous or good?
Learn something new every day...Yep, they're edible. People make wine from them! I read they are also a rich source of vitamin C. Here's a bit onthe wine process: http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/mtnash.asp
so good to see you again Carmen, hope things are looking up. From the looks of what you brought home, they must be:)
tig thanks,
well we did not bring them home yet.
we have to organize a trailer to get them, and also confirm with a neighbour if he is interested in one to for sure.
I hope to bring them home soon.
well, at least it gave you something to be excited about! and that's what counts.
Update,
we are gonna get the male, we decieted that we bouth want him, so we gonna share him and also split the prize for him.
mi SIL gonna get Meghan the female.
so for this winter they all three will be here at my place till spring.
wohooooooooo
How happy your DD looks with her new friend! Will you raise these animals as pets, livestock for breeding, eating, wool or?
wow!!!!! how fun!!
just for pets,
we do want to have one or two more in the future.
we don't plan on having them for money. I know that they will need a haircut next spring because they look a little wild.
the fiber I think I will just put in some material and make a pillow for the barncats in winter.
we will go and get them as soon as our neighbour has time, he will come with us with his big horse trailer.in exchange he will get some stroh bales for his horses *LOL*
Two very lovely creatures, for sure!!! Welcome back Zameluzza!!
"eyes"
Just for pets? Remember they make wonderful fertilizer for your garden, and they are tidy enough to leave it in piles so it is easy to collect. Post some more pictures after you get them home.
thanks eyes,
MaryE, I know *LOL* forgott to post it.
eaven for houseplants it is good since it does not smell, and it's a slow relise fertilizer :)
